As I walked my favorite retail sneaker corridor – West 34th Street, I chopped it up with some of the sneaker fiends thatr had been camped out for several days in anticipation of the latest release of NIKE’s Air Yeezy sneakers.
To say the least the conversations and interactions were fun. These dudes and dudettes(who knew?) are the reason why I keep collecting my shoes. At the end of the day it is all for the love of rubber and leather. These folks got sole.

In case non-Sneaker Fiends aren’t feeling this… let me give props to Dallas Penn, Urban Anthropologist. Ya’ll gotta appreciate DP mixing it up with 34th St kids so that the rest of us can catch the action from the comfort of home.
Maybe this joke has been made but the way ya’ll talk about having pairs “on ice” makes me think the ultimate Sneaker Fiend would, upon passing, be frozen in a man-size Nike shoe box. Or who knows, maybe Yeezy will design a coffin next?
