The first two options are like getting away scott free compared to the last. If you have ever seen someone that you loved or admired get caught up totally by that drug shit then you already know the pain I’m talking about. Dallas, don’t sleep on “Welcome To Red Hook Houses” by Hell Razah and Shabazz, under the (not great) name of T.H.U.G. Angelz. It’s some dark– and not at all romantic shit– about some choices and consequences. It’s not quite as conceptually focused as it could be but it ain’t the Brooklyn that white wants to know about, then or now. Anyway, it’s to 2008 what Joell was to 2007, although there’s a certain sorrow here compared to Joell’s still-youthful optimism (even in the face of hardship).
