Don’t H8 Mother Earth…

Haiti can not win but for losing.

The Haitans were the first nations of transplanted Africans to depose their oppressors and gain independence. That was more than 200 years ago. Their country has been fucked the fuck up ever since.

Whatever part of their capital city’s infrastructure wasn’t already in rubble before the earthquake came to the country yesterday has surely put the remaining services in the danger zone.

Haiti is gonna need a lotta help from Wyclef and Brad Pitt.

2008 a mudslide destroyed a newly built school.

At this very moment, a small makeshit boat loaded with 10-15 Haitians being rejected by state authorities in Florida. In the same breath, a small Cuban kid is being welcomed with open arms. He will become the next nationals media sensation. His story will stay in the news cycle for 2 – 3 months.

My grandparents used to live in the DR and if you didn’t know better, you’d have no idea Haiti was on the other side of the island. People didn’t say shit about Haiti other than you generally didn’t want to take your ass over there…ever.

This was the mid 80s to early 90s when Haiti was almost mythical in regard to corruption and lawlessness. No other new immigrants in South Florida were treated with the same gully respect than Haitians.

I’m praying for them and if someone can find a charity where most if not all the money will go to the people, please post a comment and a link.

    VEe!

that’s a good look. I’d ask anybody who is thinking of helping though….wait one month before sending the donation or assistance…

by that time the media won’t be covering the story and the needs will still be as great…

  11. SIC Beats says:

We just cant get a break…… Donate now and donate in a month. Where the fuck is Oprah when you need her?

  12. Mark Dub says:

    @VEe!

Good lookin. $5 is less than what I spend on lunch on the daily, and I could prah’li afford to miss a meal.

  13. Well.
I’m going to Haiti in like… 3 days to play photographer and get involved
with the relief effort. I’ll be sure to hit you off with some hi-res pic of all the fuckery.

  14. FAIL for the hustlers getting their “Haiti-Aid” scams popping right now…

  17. Naw Nat. My homie is there and all they felt were the rumblings.

  18. No doubt G. I threw a 20 up for the Haitians. I don’t want the babies to go without. But I am concerned about the political sh*t down there because they will take advantage of the money flow right now to stack up.

  19. getthesenets says:

    props to fernando mateo…..

dr and haiti have beef dating back decades..cool to see mateo mobilizing the heights to help

  20. getthesenets says:

    $yk,

I appreciate your support and concern, but I suggested to people to give it a good month before they put up any contribution..

partly because there’s a logjam of supplies being sent in the next 3-4 days and partly so they could do a bit of research and send it to a group where the full contribution goes to help.

after about a month……there’s still gonna be a need for help…..and the charlatans, hucksters, thieves, and con artists will have split.

and the ports, airport, etc will be more free to accept supplies.

  21. getthesenets says:

There were some Katrina era con artists cashing in back when that catastrophe happened…..

those people are the lowest form of life….just slightly higher than with the edophiles and the apists.

  22. 40 says:

“Shocking”/Shocking Stat (depending on your level of cynicism): the CNN dot com home page poll of “Will you donate to the relief efforts in Haiti?” the results last time I checked? (at like 5pm)

    No: 74%
    Yes: 26%
    Votes cast 67,000+

    Amazing.

11% Unemployement, Drug Wars on our southern border, potentially the largest loss of human life in the “New World” in centuries, and the average American could give a fuck. They got us all concerned spook hunting for terrorists 1000s of miles away and dutty likkle bwoys who set them baggy dem pon fire on the raasclaat plane.

  23. @ getthesenets

No doubt. I see you. After that month I’ll still be here to throw another dub into the mix.

At the end of the day, them dubs are nothing. That could’ve been me right now how I see it.
