True Detective Is The Truth…

Sunday, March 9th, 2014

True Detective was a TV treat out of nowhere. It was dark and light, both at the same damn time. The lead characters displayed a side of their acting skills I didn’t know they had. The series was a crime drama like you used to see on television back in the days. It wasn’t good television tho’, it was HBO.

This mini-series is a timeless classic.

What a groovy track from the cloaked crusaders on this joint. I appreciate the wrinkle the Dopp added to their flows and their beats. This track is off their latest album dropping this month: ‘Peace Kehd’

Don’t sleep on these dudes in 2014

“Peace Kehd is available for pre-order and set to be released on CD and vinyl, as well as digitally, on February 18. It’s the follow-up to 2013′s HARK, which was named the #2 NY Hip-Hop Album by the Village Voice. The menacing and grimy feel of The Doppelgangaz’ music belies the whip-smart humor that they’re known for. As XXL says, “The Doppelgangaz are New York rap in its purest form.”

Unlocking The Truth…

Chocolate Snowflake passed me this link today to give me some new year inspiration. These dudes rock so hard on so many levels. I also respect their parents too for giving them the space to dream and be themselves.

They are my new favorite band…

Wolverine Is The G.O.A.T.

Saturday, August 10th, 2013

I’ve decided to no longer experience my fanboy favorite things amongst other fanboys. I most assuredly will be hyper-critical of the work as I ruminate on all the things the movie or other production didn’t include from the original canon of the character(s).

When I go to see Captain America and Thor later this year I’m taking my 11yr old nephew. He isn’t bothered by the inconsistencies with the canons of these characters. He just wanted to be amazed. That’s all I ever wanted when I first started reading comicbooks.

Marvel Entertainment turned several corners when they committed their properties to Hollywood productions. They have Warner Brothers scrambling to put resources back into their comic book properties. The DC universe was flattened so many decades ago. They have had murmurs and fits but if you were gonna rock with one brand you would be dumb not to say “MAKE MINE MARVEL”.

Don’t play yourself and avoid seeing The Wolverine movie. Shit is dope. All of it.

Go See Pacific Rim AGAIN!

Sunday, August 4th, 2013

After the summer blockbuster dust has settled on 2013 I will prA’Li have seen Pacific Rim five (5) times. Yeah, it’s that good. Pacific Rim is proof that manga features can be converted to live actor vehicles. The process usually works the other way around. Live action gets converted into a cartoon and then becomes ridiculousness.

Pacific Rim is an orgy of fanboy goodness. Transformers. Macross. Godzilla. Explosions aplenty and mecha technology like you’ve never experienced before. Pacific Rim is your advanced instant fanboy pass. Now get back to the the air conditioned multiplex and pick up another ticket to see Pac Rim. Sneak into The Wolverine afterwards.
