Other than the fact that MICHAEL JACKSON is no longer with us you would have to agree that he had a pretty good weekend.
Michael Jackson’s glove sells for $350,000 at auction
Michael Jackson wins 4 American Music Awards
Michael Jackson’s death saved the US economy more than any stimulus package could. MJ’s death created jobs and got people back to work selling posters, calendars and all sorts of MJ memoribilia. It was the equivalent of the WPA from the entertainment industry.
All OBAAMA needs now is for Madonna, Barbara Streisand and Bruce Springsteen to die in 2010, 2011 and 2012 respectively and he will be re-elected for sure. I wonder if more dead celebrities would be enough incentive to push the healthcare bill through?
Hells yes to this drop. He damn sure didn’t get a 1/4 of this promotion on his last album.
Co-sign @ Amadeo. Before he died, he couldn’t even get many artists to work with him. He was viewed as a career-pariah, and now everybody’s envoking his name like he was Candyman. R.I.P. MJ
I didn’t watch the AMA’s, but frankly, what did MJ do this year while he was alive that merits him winning anything? According to that article he won for favorite album in pop/rock and r&b/soul for his 2003 (!!!) greatest hits (which really makes it even older, I mean really) album. Not saying those aren’t some timeless classics but aren’t these shows supposed to reflect the last year’s activity? I feel like they just give these out ONLY because that person died. If he was still alive he wouldn’ta won squat. And then what’s the point? They’re dead. It’s not like they’re around to appreciate it.
And good grief, if we’re gonna give awards to artists who didn’t do much musically in the last year, where’s Roc Raida’s “DJ of the Year” award?
Award shows can go that way ——–>
Tupac should be getting his “Best Rap Artist Ever” award immediately following the release of his aubiographical movie.
