America’s Killing Fields…

mexico

America’s insatiable lust for cocaine is what has caused over 1300 murders this year so far in the Mexican border town Ciudad Juarez. That number is almost six times the amount of homicides committed here in New York City this year. Ciudad Juarez population is 2 million and NYC’s is 10 million.

Gunmen kill 8 at bar in Mexican border city

What’s the connection with a shitload of dollar bills in Washington D.c. showing trace amounts of cocaine on them and all of these murders inside Mexico? The demand is obviously fueling the supply. I don’t know who in D.C. is getting skeed up off the sneedle, but whoever they are there is blood on their hands. Mexico in 2009 has become similar to America’s crack infested ghettos from 1989.

The drug trade is too profitable and too formidable to be denied. The drug trade in Mexico has seeped into the social structure at every level. The cartels are becoming legitimate industries as they diversify their trades and expand their rackets. There is only one law now in Mexico. There is no law. There are only the cartels. Big fish eating smaller fish. Well, big fish shooting smaller fish to death. Then eating it.

Moral of the story…

Sniff cocaine with African currency.

Africa can’t get any more fucked the fuck up.

Cocaine Currency…

cocaine

Researchers found trace amounts of cocaine on over 90% of the currency that was collected from Washington D.C.

Maybe then there is some credibility to GLENN BECK’s assertion that the U.S. government is becoming a lot like Germany…

Marvel Comics Manga Is Fantastic…

My favorite department store, Marshall’s, had some Fantastic 4 cartoons in their $5 DVD bin. I normally won’t even spend that amount of money on DVD’s now that pretty much everything is on the web but I wanted to have something to watch while I work on my video projects.

Something for a little diversion, some background noise*, maybe even some inspiration.

*That wasn’t pr0n

I was pleasantly surprised with the manga-influenced series. Yeah, it’s mostly for the kids and the canon is somewhat revised but that isn’a always a bad thing. The updated Dr. Doom is a little more futuristic and less teh ghey. At least he doesn’t have that man-skirt in this series.

Another part of the canon upgrade is that Alicia Masters, the blind woman dating Ben Grimm is now a Black woman. That was cool with me. Mainstream comicbook vehicles could always use more heroic Black characters.

The series also features appearances from other sundry Marvel hero icons like Ant-Man and Iron Man. The supervillains are well represented also – Doom, Mole Man and Annihilus to name a few.

I’m definitely fuxing with this series.

The X-Men: Evolutions cartoons, not so much.

SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

As you must already know I am fond of naming my sneakers. Whatever their colorway evokes in my fanboy memory is what I will call the shoe. Sometimes I find out that the designers had the similar idea for their inspiration.

Anyhoo…

Nike has been retro releasing the Air Trainer III this summer in a nice variety of colorways and materials. I’ve been copping them at various retailers for less that 50% of the original MSRP.

The hunt is on for these two pairs I have pictured. I am calling them the Megatron and Cyclonus Air Trainer III’s.

I think we are overdue for a Sneaker Fiends Unite! NYC tour. I’m excited to see what ‘Back 2 School’ pricepoints will be available.

How about Saturday 08.29.09?
