Deadstock Dallas @ DP.com…

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

The flea market hustle is for the birds. Especially since I was hanging around hipster runoff flea markets. Those dudes don’t appreciate my Dunks or Air Max like y’all do. That’s why I’m bringing Deadstock Dallas to DP.com so we can get some of these kicks moved out to better homes. Hopefully to people who will un-DS these shoes once and for all.

Here’s how simple the shit at Deadstock Dallas will work. I’ll post deadstock (never worn, never tried on) sneakers on the page with the total price (including S/H to anywhere in the continental 48 states*). If you want to fux with something you just need to hit me up at the e-mail address: the_dallas@dallaspenn.com

*I will ship to points outside of the U.S. but you gotta tell me where before I can give you a quote.

Nike Dunk CL Premium ‘JorDunk 2’ sz 12 – $60
The JorDunk is a Dunk x Jordan hybrid. The Dunk design with premium leather overlays to pay homage to iconic Air Jordan releases.

Nike Dunk CL Premium ‘JorDunk 7’ sz 11.5 – $60
The JorDunk is a Dunk x Jordan hybrid. The Dunk design with premium leather overlays to pay homage to iconic Air Jordan releases.

Nike Air Zoom MVP sz 11.5 – $60
The Air Zoom MVP is the signature show for All-Star point guard Steve Nash. The pop on these laces is what really attracted me. I should have known better than to buy them tho’ since I am definitely a sz 12.

Nike Huarache 2K4 ‘Kobe P.E.’ sz 12 – $100
The laser etching on these joints is sublime. If you know the Huarache 2K4 shoe then you know about its comfort and flexibility. This shoe is considered a ‘Player’s Exclusive’ because Kobe’s jersey number is embedded in the heel tab.

Nike Air Max 90 Premium ‘Chicago’ sz 12 – $100
The Air Max ’90 gets the premium leather treatment including an icy clear outsole with an image of the Sear’s Tower and Chi-town’s skyline on the bottom. Don’t pay Flight Club prices for these deadstock mint condition shoes.

Hi Shark, Lo Shark…

The Doppel gospel stays cloaked in dope beats and clandestine raps. This video is to my favorite joint off the Doppelgangaz ‘Lone Sharks’ album.

I’m pushing some buttons to see if the Dopp can get a slot on the bill of the December 27th Misfit Rap Party going down at Highline Ballroom featuring Action Bronson and Mr. eXquire. Stay logged on for more details…

Every year Nike gives the LeBron James signature shoes a nod to the city where he is playing basketball. Last year’s South Beach shoe is still a hypebeast classic. This year the shoes are a bit toned down as they reflect the colorway of the perennial college football powerhouse, the Miami Hurricanes.

The LeBron James shoe is supposed to be the highest performance level of basketball shoes that Nike produces since they are for the best player in the game right now. I understand that’s a debatable point but we’ll save that argument for an NBA thread.

The LBJ 9 is even sleeker than last years silhouette. His shoes have been getting less bulky since the 7. Now they look like MMA training x boxing shoes. The 9s bring back a full length airbag and an even deeper sculpt around the ankles and achilles points.

The detail which excited me for these shoes the most however is the carbon-fiber plate arch support shown on the instep photo.

I’m gonna need to visit FootLocker to get a feel for the weight of these shoes.

The LeBron 9 might have to end up under my tree for Kicksmas.

SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

Sunday, November 27th, 2011

When all the dust cleared from my Black Friday shopping insanity I was most pleased with the socks I bought to match up with my Air Jordan retro 6 ‘Detroit Pistons’. When I put these socks on you won’t be able to see the hits of red or grey. The only person who will know how well these socks match my shoes are me.

Rocking sneakers should be just like wearing your special socks. The only person you should be trying to please is YOURSELF. I understand the desire to be part of a tribe or a larger community. That’s the main reason why I love to visit the lineups and why I even started the website in the first place.

Belonging to a larger community is fun but only if you remain committed to your individual sense of swag. Once you look like everyone else you no longer have an identity. So remember to rock what YOU like and not what the hype machines tell you what is fresh, and that includes websites like DallasPenn.com
