The lineup for the ‘Lo-End Theory just keeps getting better. The addition of Sadat-X brings us that much closer to a Brand Nubian reunion at the event. I’m keeping my fingers crossed…

On Tuesday I caught up with the god at a release party for his latest album ‘Wild Cowboys II’. This is an appropriate name for this disk. There are 16 tracks and each one has a feature. Some have multiple features. Other than the four(4) tracks produced by Will Tell every track boast a different beatmaker. Instead of the album being disjointed Sadat-X anchors the album as the constant throughout.

Sadat uses his veteran status to travel all across the country recruiting rappers and producers. Pete Rock, Rhymefest, Kurupt, Shawn Black, Shabaam Sadeeq, Buckwild, ILL Bill, Minnesota, Vast Aire along with Lord Jamar and Grand Puba just to remind you ain’t a damn thing changed. Sadat-X rocks with each soundscape as if he were trying out for a job interview. He passed the test years ago, but he still rhymes like he has something to prove.

Sadat-X and Rhymefest trade hilarious verses on this track…

I fux with this joint featuring Shawn Black…

‘We Kewl’

Awww shit. Brand Nubian is in the building. Is that Game on the hook?

‘Long Years’

Old man rap is still valuable in Hip-Hop because with these veterans comes the perspective of living life in the industry for ten, even fifteen years. Those experiences need to find the ears of today’s listeners. Sadat-X represents boundless, borderless Hip-Hop. No city, no region, no country. From the Bronx to the universe. With two L’s up.

^ Greatest. Shoe. Evar.

This is the ultimate shoe for khaki pants. The rugged soles or the boat deck bottoms. Either way you can not properly prep out your style without a pair of the handsewn mocs.

I’ve been in touch with Timberland this week because the 6″ black field boot that I featured here a few weeks back failed me the other day. I’m hoping that Timberland will repair the soles as opposed to replacing the boots. Since the style is no longer in production a replacement pair almost feels like a downgrade.

Here’s a great article to read of an interview with the CEO of Timberland Jeff Swartz. He puts the company’s recent failures on his shoulders and talks about finding the path back for Timberland by doing just that – hitting a trail. Timberland isn’t Nike. or adidas, or even Rockport for that matter. Their product always represented the outdoors and the things people did everyday from construction to just plain hiking.

Timberland represents the sensibility of the everyman. The blue-collar, lunchpail, hands-on worker. For the folks that don’t take any days off, why should your shoes? Ha! I’ve been wearing Timberland boots for too long you can tell. It’s gotten to the point that I need to start writing copy for Timberland.

Editor’s note: DirtyJerz stops by DP.com quite often and today he blesses us with a pair of kicks to give away during the NCAA pool AND an epic drop about their acquisition…

Word Is Bawn. There’s absolutely NO shopping around NW Arkansas for kicks. None. Closest place to shop is Tulsa, OK, which is 2 hours away. 2 weeks ago, we took a trip out there to go to some high end mall that my girl was dyin’ to get to. Soon as we get to the mall parking lot, I looked across the street at some bum ass non-descrip strip mall and spotted a Ross. Of course I told my girl, “handle your business, but I’m headed to Rawse!”, and proceeded across the street.

You know how Ross be on some hit or miss sometimes, cleats, size 16’s, wild mexican shoes, etc., so you really gotta look when you go. I spotted these cool grey Laver mids, but it was just the one shoe, looked at the tongue[ll] and saw it was a 12, so I damn near turned that place upside down lookin’ for the mate. As I’m looking for the mate, I found it, and also came across another pair, with the plastic string holding them together. Looked at the price, $19.99!?!? FOH Copped!

They may not be the greatest pair of shoes, but this definitely goes in the books for the everyday joints!…and since I rarely fux with adidas these days, I’m willing to pass on a pair for the DP.com March Madness bracket, my closet could use the space.

Whenever I take a daytrip, I load the trunk up with kicks, cuz sneakers simply make most subjects better, IMO. Yesterday I took a 15 min. trip to Bella Vista and ran into this park, Tanyard Creek. I read the signs and took the 2 mile hike through the trail, and bumped into this waterfall. I didn’t think I would see anything this dope so I’d left the kicks in the trunk. I started having wild visions, took the hike back to the car, grabbed some kicks, and went back to that spot, and started clicking. Onlookers were lookin’ at me crazy, but fux that! I had to get it in. That back and forth hike got a kid mad exhausted today, tho!
