I’m High Powered, Put Adina Howard To Sleep…

Leave it to the Outdoorsmen to flip a Ghostface Killah verse into a sick animal track.

This song will be on the upcoming Jay Steele aka Hallagram mixtape. Action Bronson and Meyhem Lauren bless the mic [ll] for good measure.

What up Alejandroooooo?!? That’s PF Cuttin’s nickname.

Rappers In Real Life…

Monday, December 12th, 2011

I like this little video clip the homey Esso sent to me. I always wanted to follow a rapper around and get a peek into the real life creative process from the moment they step out of their door to the second the final verse is recorded.

I feel like a rapper’s daily life is much like our own except the rapper has the talent to create a visual soundscape from waiting on the platform for a train. The rest of us just get frustrated.

Here’s the link to some of Esso’s latest music titled ‘Fuck It All

MacheteVision Over Manhattan…

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

After successfully merc’king the stage at SouthPaw the homey MarQspekt met up with me in Manhattan for some end of the weak lifestyling.

Ralph Lauren is on sale all around the city starting with a private sale of Black and Purple label pieces in a midtown showroom. I thought about copping this suede fronted butters since everything was 75% off but I reined myself in at the last second recognizing that the cut on these items is for the Dallas from long ago.

Instead I linked up with ‘Spekt and we walked thru Bloomies. The Polo RL section in Bloomies is flooded with new and past season I.T.’s and they are the most organized of all the department stores I fux with. ‘Spekt copped some Polo smells and this MILFy latina saleslady gifted him with Polo branded portable speakers and Polo earbud headphones.

From Bloomies we took the Broadway line to 34th Street and hit up Macys. The miracle on 34th Street also had a 75% off rack with items that would possibly fit me sooner than anything from the Black label will and certainly fit my budget which is the priority. I stepped to this knit after peeping all the southwestern details.

Macys even got some of ‘Spekt’s show money for a knit ski hat he had been recklessly eyeballing back at Bloomies. From Macy’s we took to the streets to walk the 34th Street corridor. Timberland just opened a retail installation on West 34th this fall and I wanted to walk thru again just to see some of the products I’ve had on my wish list.

*Sidebar: Timberland sent me a pair of Abington hikers this week and they are in-Credible. I’m posting a video on these later today*

The Timberland store was pretty basic so the crew pushed onward and upward. Next stop was Lord and Taylor which is another spot I fux with that will pop off lifestyle sales on the low (you see what I just did?). I finally relented and copped this ski hat even tho’ I already have the blue c=based version. I’m such a fiend

For most people this would have been a great day and the movement could have been shut down at that point, but in my mind we were only halfway done. We hopped a bus on Madison Ave and rode that to the Polo mansion on 72nd Street. The Polo flagship store is only a 10min busride from the heart of the midtown Manhattan shopping district but it might as well be a million miles away.

I was reminded on this visit that I need to get my paper sky high if I want to get a shopping bag from this store. Scarves up in that store were costing sweater money. Sweaters were costing coat money. Don’t ask what the jackets were costing. The Polo mansion is still a mandatory experience for any wannabe lifestyler just to get your aspirations up to 1000.

After all this aspirational shopping you might would be famished. I definitely was and since we were on the upper east side we were only a few blocks from the spot my homey is managing – Dallas BBQ. This is the spot to power up for the right price. Chicken, ribs, burgers and the goblet of daquiri type drinks will have you twist rock.

Most people would have powered down after a hearty meal but we still weren’t finished after having the early dinner. ‘Spekt and I decided to walk off the meal and keep the excursion rocking. We had cut across the city all afternoon like a hot knife thru bread and then we even returned to Bloomies after feasting hardbody. ‘Spekt was looking for a sweatshirt and so was I. That’s when I decided to squeeze off on the hoody I was holding earlier.

The salesman on this visit made sure to add the store coupon to the tally and the final price was under $60. The sweatshirt ended up being cheaper than a Marshall’s purchase. The southwestern theme is ringing out heavy for me right now and the hoody fell in lockstep with my other acquisitions.

The linkup ended later on after parlaying at a recording session with Jarobi and Dres. This is how hard we go for the lifestyle on the regular. This is how we do when I’m doing it for TV. If you ’bout this lifestyle you might should holler at the kid.
