^ Not a winner.

In the hours after the Lakers had won their 15th NBA championship some of the fans in L.A. decided that they deserved to be winners too and proceeded to loot a vintage sneaker shop in the proximity of the Staples Center arena.

Now if that had been New York those fans wouldn’t have needed to steal their shoes because the deals that you find on an SFU NYC tour are almost like stealing. Except no one has to wear plastic cuffs when its all said and done, maybe a Livestrong bracelet, but no handcuffs.

sleepwalking

Don’t sleep on these joints!

With the summer getting underway there have been several styles releases months ago that are worth a second or third look now that they are being reduced to clearance prices.

air max 90

Air Max 90 Leather
The classic design in leather wears better and cleans up easier. There are several colorways to choose from and the average price ranges from $50 to $60.

am90 current

Air Max 90 Current
The revisioned AM90 is lighter than its predecessor and it has the snazzy articulated outsole of the latest cross-trainers. This is a great summer shoe also because the upper is mostly a breathable mesh. I have seen these shoes for as low as $50 right now. That’s an awesome deal considering the MSRP was initially $125.

outbreak

Outbreak (Womens)
I have seen these shoes in several solid colorways along with the pop art print that is pictured here. I’m just a little jealous that the ladies have so many Dunks and other cool styles to pick from at deeply discounted prices. The Outbreaks are going for $30 at Dr.Jays and some other spots in the city.

air terra humara supreme

Air Terra Humara Supreme
Y’all already know how I go in for colorful shit? Since I copped the Wildwood Supremes in this colorway I thought about just coming up on these so that I had a set. The Air Terra Humara was a favorite shoe of the retro fans this past year.

MVP
I normally don’t fux with all black sneakers but these joints are so wavy. That have several different types of leather along their upper and I am interested to see how the sockliner feels on my foot. I saw these for $60 a few months back and I passed on them. I have my fingers crossed that these will be a $40 comeup this weekend.

Roots Picnic Swag Survey…

swag

White folks saved Hip-Hop once again.

If they didn’t buy tickets to outdoor music festivals no one else would.

The Roots aren’t just the hardest working band in show business, but they could very well be the Hip-Hop group with the most swag evar. Questo had those limited edition NIKE Air Force 1’s and Black Thought has been going in hardbody with the Gucci brand. Dude has been D-boy fresh like them cats that use to run wild from Walt Whitman houses.

Black Thought rocked Gucci kicks in white during the Public Enemy set earlier in the evening then closed the show at midnight in these black jawns.

yeezy

DP asks “Where R U Yeezy?!?” in the city of brotherly love.

[ll], and definitely no fishsticks.

In every city there have been campouts for this series of sneakers. Despite the economic stagnation across the nation the lines of people willing to stand outside for several days, even in the rain, has not subsided. You might can call these sneakers recession proof. The folks I chop it up with in Philadelphia are possibly the most passionate collectors I have met to date.

I’m starting to see that the campout culture is the zenith of sneaker collecting.
