connect 4

This week has been on some bangout shit here at DPdotcom. I haven’t had this many heat rock exclusives in like forever. It was like a Raekwon album release. Shout out to Timeless Truth for their grind, and especially my homey Meyhem Lauren.

Thirstin’ Howl 3rd, I see you ‘Lo-G.

The ‘Lo End Theory is in effect.

Let’s ride out to this track off PF Cuttin’s East New York Radio compilation.

On his recent trip to Amsterdam Sean Price came up on a pair of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 collabos. I can’t really call it, but lately I’ve been re-appreciating the lines of the OG Air Max ’87 shoe. More than simply nostalgia I’m sure, but I’m just digging the feel of a classic running trainer.

When I rocked the Air Maxims at the OnSmash Invasion concert my feet were as comfortable as if I had on house shoes. I still need to come up on a pair of the Patta releases tho’. The colorways are so damn cool-cool-coooooool.

priceless

I just went to the venue with Combat Jack where we are gonna host the first edition of the ‘Lo End Theory concert series and Polo Ralph lauren swap meet. The space is dope and roomy. I’m thinking about setting up a few tables for vendors to bump their I.T.’s. This is when I holler at another group of internets – Vintage Gear Addicts. Their ‘Lo game is official and deep.

Along with Meyhem Lauren, the concert will feature my brothers from my hometown Corona, Queens. Timeless Truth has been steadily grinding as of late and I can’t wait to sit down with them tonight in the studio during their radio show, the Industry Shakedown, and talk to them about their recent projects. This ‘Lo End Theory event is starting to shape up nicely. 2DopeBoyz and NahRight are going to be in full effect. Are you?

Timeless Truth just sent me this banger called ‘Priceless’. I was at part of the video shoot for this track and I have been open to hear the fully mastered heat.

MEYHEM LAUREN: ‘BOUT 2 WIN AGAIN…

In April I’m gonna produce an event in Brooklyn with the homey Combat Jack. I’m calling it the ‘Lo-End Theory. The theme is going to be a Polo Ralph Lauren swap meet and concert. Think of the Sneaker Pimps events, instead this joint will focus on the ‘Lo lifestyle.

I spoke with Meka from 2DopeBoyz and he said he will fux with this event. Eskay from NahRizzy is a classic ‘Lo head himself so I hope he will fux with us too. If you fuxed with the Bring Your Own Blogger BBQ you already know how these dudes bring ’em out.

Depending on their availability the artists I want to perform are…

Sean Price
88 Keys
Thirstin’ Howl 3rd
Timeless Truth
Meyhem Lauren

Meyhem Lauren is the protege of DJ J-Love. They got a lot of work they put in together. Here’s a track from Meyhem Lauren called ‘Bout 2 Win Again’. Stay tuned party people, the internets are about to win again.

all star 2010

The crown jewel of the Association’s All-Star weekend isn’t the Sprite dunk contest, or the 3-pt shootout, or even that massively retarded skills competition. The crown jewel is the game filled with the best players in the world. Unlike the MLB’s All Star game which features the best baseball players in America and not the world, and the NFL’s All-Pro game which features the best players that opted to play in the game, the NBA All-Star game sports the BEST athletes in their sport.

I appreciated DWAYNE WADE and LeBRON JAMES full court games. They passed, played great defense and played above the rim. It was a shame that the game was boiling down to free throws and a last second heave by CARMELO ANTHONY to finally decide what was a spectacular showcase from some of the league’s best backcourt players. There were great perfomances from forwards like JAMES, ANTHONY, CHRIS BOSH, DIRK NOWITZKI and KEVIN DURANT, but the game was in the hands of the guards and DWAYNE WADE and Utah’s DERON WILLIAMS didn’t disappoint me.

The Association’s partnership with Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones for their gala weekend was a bit annoying to me but I also imagined how desperate Jerry Jones must have been to put some bodies into his multi-billion dollar Texas taxpayer albatross seeing as to how the Cowboy’s had their postseason dreams cut short. Playing an exhibition game under a ginormous steel cave must have seemed like a good idea to someone in the league office. In my opinion tho’, less is more when cagers are concerned. Let the futbol games be played in front of 100K people. The B-ball games need a more intimate gathering [ll].

Where’s the game going down next year? I’ma see if we can get Dontrevius Wenters a ticket to All-Star weekend…
