Deep Thoughts by Sean Price…

p!

Back in 2005 I used to run a feature on this site called DipSet Deep Thoughts by Cam’Ron Giles. I was pretty much an admitted DipSet stan back then and Cam’Ron was the spiritual leader of that movement. I didn’t wear pink because of Cam, but he validated it in my wardrobe better than I ever did by myself. DipSet was ‘hood fabulous FLASHION (my word bitches).

Fast forward to the present and the rapper that I stan for the most is Sean Price. Black hoody rap is still flashy and it stays preppy in Polo Ralph Lauren. Sean Price just opened a TWitter account – @SeanMandela. They should’a never gave this dude a laptop. This is going to be entertaining and informative. Edutainment in the rawest sense. It’s only just begun…

What emcee would drop a verse namechecking the queen of AfroPop? Maybe NaS? Mos Def? When is the last time you really wanted to hear NaS? Does Mos Def even rap anymore?

Peep how Miriam Makeba is two words with three syllables each. Sean Price just ethered your favorite rapper with that namecheck. Botswana!

Yo for real… What is this ghey shit about when someone (presumably a man) tells another man to suck his dick?

Sean P say, “Don’t never invite me to your manhood. In jail that will get you kil’t (no William Wallace).”

Practical advice to all the TWitter insomniacs from Sean P.

Sean Price Is Top Rank…

sean price

I haven’t gotten up with Sean Price for a minute which means the hardest working rapper in Hip-Hop must have hundreds of projects already completed during the interim.

We linked up last nite at a studio session with the infamous Queens crew Timeless Truth. Solace a/k/a ‘Henny Blanco’ and his brother O-Prime, the Barry Larkin of the rap game, are closing the loop on their debut album as well as a highly anticipated mixtape titled ‘Rockit Science’.

The last quarter of the year is going to be filled with dope rhymes and hard beats from all of these brothers. Sean P let us preview some verses from his various projects. The internets ain’t ready for this dude. The world ain’t ready. No sheila.

Get excited for the Random Axe album. That shit will be bananas.

Mic Tyson is being nailed down after P links with Alchemist in a few weeks.

Heltah Skeltah and so on

Peep this dope visualization from Germany. Sean Price goes top ranking. Who is the nicest rapper in Brownsville? You already know… P!

foamposities

Sean P and I mostly agree on shit when it comes to kicks (other than New Balance). We both have hell’a Dunks and Air Max and not so much Jordan brand shit. So I was surprised the other day when P sent me an e-mail describing the latest shoes on his wish list along with the joints that were receiving his vaunted “Emphatically 14 15” designation.

For those of you keeping score at home, when Ruck says “14 15” he is speaking on the 14th and 15th letters in the alphabet. The N and O. Non Cipher for all of you cats who are still 5-percenters. Nyet for my dude Dmitry Vortman and any other Russian heads up here on DP dot com. An emphatic 14 15 means that he wouldn’t get pictured in that item. Think Ricky Rothchild rugbys and the what not.

The shoes that P is fuxing with are the Air Force 1 Foamposites.

I don’t typically fux with Forces at all. I can count all my pairs of Forces on one hand. The idea of a foam Force was executed better with the ‘Forceposite’ design. These Air Force 1 Foamposites look like Frankenstein boots.

The shoes getting the ‘Emphatic 14 15’ are the Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoors FTLOTG (For The Love Of The Game – for those of you keeping score at home). I’m mad now because I fux with these joints. The Air Jordan Alpha 1 is being slept on by the masses.

Alpha 1s

Props to TheShoeGame.com

What do y’all Sneaker Fiends think? Are you fuxing with the Air Force 1 Foams? Are you shitting on the Air Jordan Alpha 1s? Is that powder blue colorway not the bomb. I’ma let y’all decide.

Sean Price Sunday Cartoon Festival…

super ninja team gatachaman

No one fux with cartoons as much as Sean Price. Maybe DOOM, but then again I don’t think so.

Sean P asked me what was my favorite cartoon of all time. I fuxed with ALL the cartoons. Bugs Bunny is the GOAT character of cartoondom, but my favorite cartoon show of all time was G-Force. Not that more recent manga looking joint, but the Battle Of The Planets version. I use to hustle home hardbody to catch an episode of G-Force.

The next thing I know I got a whole grip of G-Force eps in my mailbox. I knew these joints were dope from back when but I forgot exactly how good they were. G-Force were like superhero environmentalists. The bad asses called Spectra were steady mobbing the Earth and affiliated planets for minerals and the what not. G-Force would block them every time even if they had to ‘transmute*’ into a fiery Phoenix. BTW, the animation in these episodes predate the Dark Phoenix saga in Marvel’s X-Men comics yet you can still clearly see American comicbook culture in the costuming of the characters.

The OG Japanese series is called ‘Science Ninja Team Gatchaman**‘.

In this ep Spectra sends a robotic centipede to heist the Earth’s oil reserves. If British Petroleum had any cool motherfuxers on staff they might would’a known to blame that shit what happened in the Gulf on Zoltar.

The double bonus for British Petroleum would have been how the name Zoltar sounds like an a-rab.
