The Banking Clan Runs The Universe…

imerial advisors

Watching the Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network always gives me insight into the geo-political scene we are experiencing here in real-time America. The Banking Clan provided funding to the Republic as well as the Sepratists during the battle for the Old Republic.

I also wonder if the Banking Clan weren’t the ones who held the secrets to the Sith history that Chancellor Palpatine was so desperate to secure? I know that members of the Banking Clan ended up being part of the Emperor’s advisory board. How else do you think he raised the galactic credits to build that second Death Star? Even for bad guys shit cost money.

The Banking Clan stayed paid in full by coercing the Old Republic to take out loans to bolster their military industrial complex. The plan was to stage an attack on Coruscant from the Sepratisits that would frighten the Republic senators into voting for deregulation of the banking system. Deregulation meant that the banks could charge any rate of interest they wanted on emergency loans they issued.

How hardbody was the Banking Clan’s scheme? Our Fed Reserve should take notes on how they deal with our banking industry. That Star Wars plan is way more sexier, and straightforward ruthless than Quantitative Easing.

Jets On The Ground…

stiff arm jets

When Thanksgiving rolled around the Jets were one of the best teams in the league. Just like the NFL is an acronym for Not For Long, it didn’t take long for the Jets to start looking like stuffed turkeys.

In two consecutive weeks everything that has been dominant about the Jets has been torn down. Sure, Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks to play pro football, but when the Dolphins play in the division they really aren’t any better than the Bills. The Jets needed to win this home game badly because their next two games are on the road.

Pittsburgh and then Chicago.

The Jets can beat the Steelers and the Bears but not if they keep playing dumb shook football like they have the past two weeks. I’d prefer less Rex Ryan pregame quotes for the rest of the month. Let’s go Jets. Don’t let the ghosts of Richard Todd, Ken O’Brien and Christmas’ past put lumps of coal in your cleats.

dre

Dr.Dre’s latest single from the near mythical proposed album ‘Detox’ is being met with mostly guffaws not at the music but at Dre’s choice of apparel. It’s not like he didn’t pioneer the extra-fitted double-breasted look twenty something years ago. Why switch your pitch if it can still get your plate out? Mangled baseball metaphor aside, the new single ‘Kush’ is a return to the formula that the Doctor has perfected.

Posse cuts?

Ghostwriters?!

Nate Dogg?!?

All of this is the chemistry that Dr.Dre mixes into his best music, along with the dopest drum tracks and piano riffs out the ass [ll]. You can act like you won’t fux with ‘Kush’, but if you leave your mom’s basement anytime in the next two weeks and find yourself in the club you best believe you will be bobbing your head to this track.

‘Kush’

‘Parental Discretion Iz Advised’
The bassline and masterful intro from the D.O.C. makes this track. D.O.C. even had enough verses in his rhymebook to make Dre sound nice with his. This shit still bangs hard after 20 years in the tapedeck. Are you peeping the piano plucks?

‘The Chronic’
This is emo rap in case any of y’all didn’t know. Dr.Dre rhymes about the breakup of his relationship [ll] with Eazy-E on top of a classic P-Funk bassline. Bernie Worrell inspired synth keys roll around in the background. Are you bobbing your head yet?

‘Still D.R.E.’
The drumkick is razor sharp. The synth bass is sublime. But above all the piano licks are supreme. And Jay’s pen is the frosting on top. Put this joint in rap’s top 100 all time tracks.

‘The Next Episode’
Hard. Body.

Dr.Dre’s jackets are still tight.

And so are his tracks.

‘Nuff said

amare knicks

I wasn’t all impressed with the Knicks acquisition of A’mare Stoudemire this summer. From his recent history with the Suns I felt like he was on the decline skills-wise and since he was a post player I knew he needed a ballhandler[ll] to set up his playmaking. The Knicks, other than having the coach where he saw his greatest success, didn’t seem like a good fit.

Wham! (no George Michael) and along with some smart free agency moves (Felton!), draft picks (Landry!) and even residual role player pickups (Turiaf!) the Knickerbockers are looking like a real team in the league. We still aren’t elite status yet but the next two weeks will go a long way to showing me what we are capable of.

Okay, I still say that A’Mare’s defense is lacking, but it’s really his rebounding that I wish would improve. When he does have a decent rebounding game he also finds a way to have double digits in turnovers. I know, I know, its a work in progress.

With the upcoming week’s schedule featuring Carmelo, Rondo, LeBron and Durant I am desperate to get a ticket to go inside the Garden.

Anybody got a hookup for the kid?
