The Darkest Knight…

Sunday, May 20th, 2012

I’ve been peeping some Mike Mignola artwork covering Batman. Mignola’s steez is totally influenced by the Frank Miller, Klaus Janson minimalism of the 1980s.

Mignola’s style is way more esoteric tho’. He really brings forth the cultish Batman imagery. Are y’all getting hyped for this next Batman movie or what?

I’ll be at the midKnight release

Iceberg Slim Rockin’ Rims In The Suburbs…

Kevin Durant is a str8 up cold-blooded assassin. He and Russell Westbrook powered the OKC Thunder past the Lakers to put a stranglehold on their Western conference divisional series.

It’s about to be the Spurs and the Thunder to determine which of these teams gets the NBA ‘chip this season. I don’t think anyone from the East is gonna be comp for either of these squads.

SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

The Air Jordan 6 is the greatest Jordan in my opinion because these are the shoes he rocked on his way to his first NBA title. The Bulls were ultra dominant in their post-season tournament run. The swept the Knicks in the first round and then dispatched the Sixers in five games.

All eyes were on the matchup with the Pistons who were the Bulls ultimate nemesis back then, even moreso than the Knicks because the Knicks never bounced the Bulls while Jordan was on the floor. It was the Bad Boy Pistons who gave Scottie Pippen migraines and frustrated Jordan to no end.

I fux with these kicks because of the colors and the materials. Blue and red are my favorite color combination and then suede and patina leather is like Christmas for my feet. I don’t really hype out too tough for J’s but I will go the extra mile for a pair of 6s. It’s that serious.

R.A.P. Music Saviors…

Saturday, May 19th, 2012

Killer Mike is one of the few Hip-Hop artists who hasn’t become dismayed with the rap listeners despite the shift in the music industry’s support for his type of underground rap soundtrack. That’s prA’li because Killer Mike has the attitude of perspective of the traveling griot who would go anywhere to deliver a parable to the people. Killer Mike is more prophet than profit.

Killer Mike’s latest CD ‘R.A.P. Music’ comes to us with no fanfare or propmotion. If you know what’s good for you then you know it’s out here. I had to post this track with Bun B and T.I. because it is so damn hard. Plus Bun B merc’ks that shit by putting ‘onomatopoeia’ in his verse. Who does that in rap music in 2012?

Killer Mike feat. Bun B, T.I. and Trouble – ‘Big Beast’

Killer Mike’s album was produced entirely by the incomparable El-P, who himself is dropping a brand new project called ‘Cancer 4 Cure‘. It sounds like El-P’s studio is the nexus for the hottest underground rap music dropping post-2010.

I didn’t start fuxing with El-P until I heard him rap on the Das Racist album ‘Relax’. Ain’t that some shit how I came to listen to this legendary producer and emcee from left field rap? That’s how it be sometimes tho’. You ain’t late as long as you get there.

“to the mother of my enemy, i just killed your son
he died with his face to the sky and it can not be undone
he didn’t die hard, in the end he just grinned and bowed
made him dig his own grave at the point of a gun while he laughed to the gods out loud”
