I’m glad that Hip-Hop still has some young voices who want to question this social system of shadow proxy slavery

G.O.O.D. Music Clique should call themselves GMC and do their damnedest to bring General Motors back into the forefront*.
*Provided GMC makes cars that use less gas and get better mileage.

Jay-Z already has his own color blue (Ivy) Denali.

MarQ Spekt: Broken Mazes

Saturday, September 8th, 2012

MarQ Spekt went left right after the ‘MacheteVision’ project and hit a home-run. Broken Mazes is ‘Spekt’s cerebral flow over instrumentals from Gary Wilson.

When I was in Atlanta I had a chance to burn it down with ‘Spekt and listen to the project. I’m a let ‘Spekt speak on his project…

“A little teaser for the upcoming Broken Mazes EP. This record is a collaborative between myself and experimental, proto-new wave musician Gary Wilson(Stones Throw)

It’s rare that you get the opportunity to work with the actual artist rather than just sampling the record. Gary opened his vaults and provided ample soundscapes

Some of these instrumentals dating back to 1973 may have been heard before. Others may not. The ending result is a pure creative expression and meshes Hip Hop, Psychedelic, Jazz, Funk…

Soak up the vibrations and Enjoy!”

The Boot Camp Clique Chronicles…

Why did I even do it to myself?

Why did I walk thru Century21 when I know I ain’t got no paper to burn? Just to give myself agita I suppose. That was the feeling I got when I saw these ranger boots from Timberland x Rag & Bone sitting on the rack for $120.

I kill in the black and grey versions, but I NEEEEEDS these for my winter woodsman [ll] outfit architecture.

What am I to do? Pay my bills, or get my thrills?

Get Ready For Cormega…

Friday, September 7th, 2012

Cormega was the Combat Jack Show’s special studio guest for this most recent episode. He answered some of the internets most asked questions about his friendship with NaS, and why The Firm flopped. Cormega is gearing up another run at rap, but from a totally independent perspective. I hope he wins.

The Combat Jack Show staff had a moment of reflection on the passing of rap music power broker Chris Lighty. The hilarity ensued when Premium Pete insinuated that Combat Jack was still wearing bondouloo Polo shirts. I did a tag inspection and everything appeared to be on the up and up, altho’ I will agree with Premium that I have never seen that color polo pony on that knit shirt. LOLMFBAO!

Get ready for Combat…
