Rugby Lifestyle Remix…

rugby

I’m sad that Rugby won’t let people buy their patches anymore. Hyper-exclusive retailing is the aspiration of poor people attempting to be middle-class… Looking.

I’m glad that I bought my patches years ago and started the trend. I’ve been sitting on a pile of patches and a pile of knits copped from Marshall’s on the come up.

I figured I could marry a few I.T.s with DP.com as the congregation [ll]…

Internets. You need to have several colorway programs to be fully lifestyle. The PRL sport red is basic swag that you can rock all year around if you are a lifestyler from Florida to Texas. This knit was reduced from $34.99 down to $27.00 at first clearance. In all honesty I usually don’t copp from Marshall’s until second clearance or less than $25 bucks. The Rugby patch is funky. That cost me $12 on a sale at the store.

The African tailor on Washington is a good dude. I overpay him with a dub for applying the patch, but I make him do some fly shit to make the patch really popoffavitch. Cross check, outline the numerals and put this material in between the shirt and the patch.

This material gives the patch a nice puffy (no Last train To Paris) look and the material also picks up the sweat from you big sweat-back lifestylers [ll].

The next I.T. is actually a short sleeve rugby knit. Most of you know that the classic Polo short sleeve is fashioned after a polo match knit? This Polo is a rugby shirt. Crosshatched stitching re-inforced shoulder yoke. Marshall’s first retail price was what? $24.99?!? I’m gawn innnnnnnn!

Even tho’ I’m no Yankee fan I can top off this I.T. with the classic navy fitted on some school uniform shit.

The blue/grey program would get officially murderated if I copp the Air Jordan XI ‘Cool Greys’. BONG!

The Greatest Show On Earth…

vick

Michael Vick is the unofficial and most likely unacknowledged MVP of the NFL. He is single-handedly the greatest show on Earth. He is like Vince Carter mixed with Cliff Lee and a side order of Pele. Vick commands all the attention when he is on the football field and this allows his teammates to be great if they want to be. And DeSean Jackson WANTS to be great too.

The DP.com Pick ‘Em Football Pool is also unofficially over at this point. LM has been in first place since week 1 for the first wire-to-wire win in the DP.com pool. I rallied to make it look closer than it was but I’ve fallen back to my 5 correct weekly pick ways. Congrats to LM and to everyone else that stuck it out until the end (which still has two week remaining).

If Yahoo allows me to start over for the playoffs we’ll get that pool poppin’ off as well. Stay tuned Internets.

Jets On The Ground…

stiff arm jets

When Thanksgiving rolled around the Jets were one of the best teams in the league. Just like the NFL is an acronym for Not For Long, it didn’t take long for the Jets to start looking like stuffed turkeys.

In two consecutive weeks everything that has been dominant about the Jets has been torn down. Sure, Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks to play pro football, but when the Dolphins play in the division they really aren’t any better than the Bills. The Jets needed to win this home game badly because their next two games are on the road.

Pittsburgh and then Chicago.

The Jets can beat the Steelers and the Bears but not if they keep playing dumb shook football like they have the past two weeks. I’d prefer less Rex Ryan pregame quotes for the rest of the month. Let’s go Jets. Don’t let the ghosts of Richard Todd, Ken O’Brien and Christmas’ past put lumps of coal in your cleats.

amare knicks

I wasn’t all impressed with the Knicks acquisition of A’mare Stoudemire this summer. From his recent history with the Suns I felt like he was on the decline skills-wise and since he was a post player I knew he needed a ballhandler[ll] to set up his playmaking. The Knicks, other than having the coach where he saw his greatest success, didn’t seem like a good fit.

Wham! (no George Michael) and along with some smart free agency moves (Felton!), draft picks (Landry!) and even residual role player pickups (Turiaf!) the Knickerbockers are looking like a real team in the league. We still aren’t elite status yet but the next two weeks will go a long way to showing me what we are capable of.

Okay, I still say that A’Mare’s defense is lacking, but it’s really his rebounding that I wish would improve. When he does have a decent rebounding game he also finds a way to have double digits in turnovers. I know, I know, its a work in progress.

With the upcoming week’s schedule featuring Carmelo, Rondo, LeBron and Durant I am desperate to get a ticket to go inside the Garden.

Anybody got a hookup for the kid?
