henderson

I like that RICKEY HENDERSON, who for his career in major League Baseball was adept at hitting the high hard ones [ll] as well as the off speed joints threw everyone a curveball of his own with his humble induction speech on Sunday in Cooperstown.

We all agree that RICKEY deserved the nomination on the first ballot. His career numbers are the testament to someone who dedicated himself to the game of baseball. His records are going to be in place for a long time too since the game isn’t played on the patient racetrack that RICKEY labored.

Congrats again to JIM RICE and RICKEY HENDERSON.

If there is a brand of sneakers that I lean on immediately it would have to be the Nike Skateboarding releases. The Nike SB Dunks are part of the reason this is the most popular shoe for people in the know. The SB Dunk is available in three different versions. The classic high and low and the trendsetting mid that features an ankle strap.

I fux with the SB Dunk highs mostly because of the versatility these shoes give you when you are wearing jeans or shorts. The SB Dunk highs have that padded tongue that you can use as a breaker for your jeans. Peep the details like contrasting stitching throughout. Plus, the SB Dunks always have premium leathers and materials. They are almost too well made to skate in.

Peace to OKayPlayer SHAMZ and the ‘UnFutura’ highs.

If you are lucky enough to come up on a pair of Nike SB Dunks you need to walk good because your feet will definitely be having a good day.

Instead of watching the Major League Baseball All-Star game which won’t be featuring some of the game’s best players I decided to go to the NikeID website and craft a pair of shoes in honor of one of my favorite baseball heroes. It was only twenty years ago in 1989 that this player was the MVP of the mid-summer night’s classic game for hitting 2 for 4, including a home run, 2 RBI’s and stealing a base for good measure. That was some WILLIE MAYS ish right there.

BO JACKSON has already had several Air Trainers releases named after him and the memorable ad campaign of ‘Bo Knows’ which might have been the height of Nike’s commercial creativity. The Air Trainer III is one of the shoes that adorn my personal sneaker collecting Holy Grail.

I put this pair together for a look at what a futuristic Kansas City Royals uniform might require. Royal blue has to remain on the shoes at least as an accent. Nike’s new cross-trainer design has incorporated the ‘Flywire’ technology on the shoes upper to make the shoes incredibly lightweight. The Free 5.0 outsole is used for the comfort and ergonomic movement of the foot. I like the fact that NikeID also has an option for nubuck material on the shoes upper which gives the cross trainer a classy ‘athletic shoe’ look.

Would BO JACKSON rock these Air Max Trainers?

Hells chea!

DP.COM MANNY WATCH…

MANNY RAMIREZ looks to be getting back to being MANNY RAMIREZ after serving the 50 game suspension that MLB imposed on him for having a bottle of prescribed estrogen.

Even if MANNY RAMIREZ is planning on going back to the Dominican Republic in the off-season to grow ladytits he is making his presence felt during this season in the field. 9 RBI in 8 games is what’s really hood. But passing JIMMIE FOXX and tying the MICK on the all-time HR list is the official bone gristle.

The Los Angelos Dodgers lead the majors with 55 wins as the first half of the season wraps up tonight. The Boston Red Sox trail the Dodgers in total wins, but leads the American League in victories. How supreme would a Boston vs. L.A. World Series be? Especially since the Celtics and the Lakers are respectively the teams to beat in the Association as well. I’m riding with the Dodgers on this one.

For JACKIE and for MANNY.
