I am batshit crazy for the Air Jordan Retro 6 in the colorway called the ‘Detroit Pistons’.
The 6 was the shoe he wore to his first ever championship. The Detroit Pistons were Jordan’s greatest nemesis back then even more than my Knicks. When Jordan and the Bulls finally broke thru Detroit’s hold on the Eastern Conference it was a new era in basketball.
The Piston’s 6 has suede and patined leather on the upper with royal blue and varsity red accents thruout.
I couldn’t figure out why I was so attracted to this show until my boy Kenny sent me this pic. Now it all makes sense.
The forecast predicted rain in the afternoon but the weatherman didn’t even know that the reign would not fall as long as thousands of Hip-Hop fans came out to show their support.
The god MC Rakim would grace NYC with a free performance at the Rumsey Playfield SummerStage and bring out some of his friends to rock the stage along with the greatest rapper of all time.
Rakim is a lyrical scientist who crafts verses filled with double entendre and polysyllabic words. I will never forget how Thundercracker used to transcribe Rakim verses and just marvel at the wordplay which made him open a dictionary to achieve full comprehension.
Rakim paced the stage from left to right making sure everyone saw the visage of your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. This was his triumphant moment in the heart of New York City.
The congregation raised their hands in salutes and tributes to what ended up being a perfect sunshower afternoon filled with Hip-Hop.

BYOBBQ set list
I remember after I did the first Bring Your Own Blogger BBQ with Combat Jack that I told Chocolate Snowflake I would never do that shit again. I had fun the first time but I also spent too much time administering the event. The bloggerati I wanted to politick with I ended up missing because I was too busy filling up containers with my special drink concoctions.
I fell into that same mode again at the BYOBBQ doing admin shit and not shaking hands or kissing the babies, or even emceeing the procession of entertainers who graced the makeshift stage at The Morgan. I can’t fault my partners Combat Jack or Peter Oasis who have the larger sense to know that I’m prA’li better at the back of the house getting high and barking orders.
I say that I won’t do this shit again, but I also said I wouldn’t do a podcast show at PNC Radio and a year later I’m still doing a podcast show at PNC Radio. I did meet one of the internets last nite and she has the best TWitter iD I’ve seen in a long time – putyoudreams1st

FROM THE SUSPECT TITLE “Watch The Throne” which in Brooklynese meant watching the toilet I wondered aloud what was up.
First question, why was this released right after NYC legalized same sex marriage?
Second question, why did these two rappers HAVE to get together since neither really has any lyrical statement to make other than “I’M RICH BITCHES!” which Dave Chapelle covered so well in many a skit long, long ago.
I could go on but I am too busy trying to figure out why after making exactly 299 gazillion dollars off his brand name Ralph Lauren decided to drop the name POLO from all future clothing. Was this a big F-U to all those men of color who fiended over his wares.
Enough for now, I just finished day six of radiation and have 4 more weeks of every day treatments to go, so if I glow in the dark like a Timex you’ll know why.
