“I Get Wild Like LARRY DAVIS”

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

igwlld

Editor’s note: Today is a sad day indeed. I just got an e-mail this morning that one of my heroes was killed in prison yesterday. LARRY DAVIS was a poor Bronx teenager who sold drugs for the NYPD until he decided to quit, with their money. The police came to execute him and his family but he somehow escaped and started a nationwide manhunt for his capture. Peep this remixed drop with his DVD story.

Rest in peace to this ghetto hero who actually survived for a minute after bucking his gat and yelling “Fuck The Police!”

I know that I’ve sworn off using YouTube videos in my drops, but let’s face it, they’re a beast with force that you can’t deny. Kind’a like your mans-n-them ESKAY from Nah’Right.

Nah’Rizzle dropped a link the other day to this series of YouTube’s documenting the story of NYC cult hero LARRY DAVIS. Most people aren’t built to withstand the heat that comes from the entire NYPD trying to kill you while the supremacist media simultaneously castigates you. LARRY managed to do that. He lost his ability to walk in the process, but he never lost his will to live.

Peep dude’s true story…

kaiju bb

The Kaiju Big Battel was church as always. As a matter of fact I think they are getting better with their presentation. About two thousand people packed themselves inside of Webster Hall for the performance with many kids going all in with their own versions of Kaiju helmets.

Chocolate Snowflake and I found ourselves a sweet spot on a speaker near the stage. I snuck in a bottle of Belevedere and we enjoyed Belvy x Red Bull cocktails all night.

The bouts were all action-packed and there were some new Kaiju characters introduced to us plus my old favorites like Dr. Cube’s minion Grunyon. Here are some of the names of the Kaiju heroes…

  • Power Ranjeru
  • Steam Powered Tentacled Boulder
  • Dust Bunny
  • American Beetle
  • The Sea Amigos
  • In the championship match Grunyon faced off against Kaiju champion Call Me Kevin. Grunyon beat down Call Me Kevin but lost the match on a technicality. I have a gang of pixs of the Kaiju Big Battel in the Blu Cheez photo gallery. Check ’em out when you get the chance. Everything is safe for work.

    KAIJU BIG BATTEL >>>>> CLOVERFIELD

If you have the opportunity to put a Chocolate Snowflake in your life I suggest that you do so. She is the ultimate internets celebrity nerdcore arm candy and she will make your life that much sweeter because she is chocolate after all.

C.S. knows that whenever we are in the Union Square district that I have to walk through Forbidden Planet. I peruse the latest action figures and thumb through a few graphic novels and then we continue on our business. What is totally church now is that C.S. will now walk through F.P. even when I am not with her and she will see what is new on the scene. She just sent me an SMS that she bought us two(2) tickets to see the KAIJU BIG BATTEL at Webster Hall.

Kaiju Big Battel: New York Blackout

    YESSSSS!

    *Marv Albert voice*

KAIJU BIG BATTEL is only like the illest sporting event evar in the history of the Earth. Okay, maybe the dinosaurs had a more better sporting event, but that would be pre-historic so therefore it becomes null and void since it isn’t on video. Imagine if you will, Godzilla fighting Mothra in a wrestling ring. Exactly.

I haven’t seen the KBB since August 2006 and they are always inserting new characters into their cosmology. It’s an uproarious event in itself and I hope that the organizers have tightened up some of the details that will take this event to outerspace where it belongs. I wonder who the musical guest would be. I will lose my shit if they have MF Doom as King Geedorah. This looks like the type of event where I will have to pass out some choice DP Dot Com goodies.

Holla at your boy in the Godzilla costume.

    They Might Be Giants…

    giants

While the rest of New York City is giddy over the Super Bowl victory of the New JERSEY Giants I find myself a bit melancholy. Being a Dallas Cowboys fan in this town is never fun even when we are on top of the world, plus I wanted to see New England establish a new benchmark for NFL greatness. I’m tired of hearing about the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970s being the greatest NFL dynasty. A Patriots win would have wiped that notion away.

Alas I find myself in a sea of red and blue for the next year until my Cowboys can return to glory. I dedicate this drop to CANDICE and to all of you fans of the team from the stinking Meadowlands.

    Baby Longneck – MVP

My favorite Giant through all of this has been Grandma Giant.

Spotting the accountants downtown is pretty easy. These dudes know better than to shred any paper before April 15th.

    giants

How easy would it be to just put the ‘J’ next to the ‘N’? For chissakes, the Giants have been playing New Jersey since the 1970’s!

    giants

Someone has waaaaay too much time on their hands.

    giants

Several fans requested to fingerbang Baby Longneck. One cheeky fan even wanted permission to fist him.

    giants

When he promised to fingerbang several fans, the crowd roared its approval.

    giants

How tough is this guy? He’s looking to take on TWO fingers.

    giants

“Hey boys! Up here. You can fingerbang me. My boss is doing it right now!”

    giants

Little Timmy wistfully awaits the day when he too can be fingerbanged by his heroes.
