statik

STATIK SELEKTAH’s new album ‘Stick 2 the Script’ dropped today. The album features ridiculous cameos from everyone. No, really. EVERYONE.

My favorite track features verses from TALIB KWELI, SKYZOO and my number one nigga on the mic trigger, JOELL ORTIZ.

Talking ‘Bout U (Ladies)’

I got a chance to visit the studio when JOELL came through to lay down his verses. The environment was focused and all about work. I almost made my own rap song, except I can’t rap.

At all.

What I need to do is stay in my lane and ‘Stick 2 The Script‘.

yeezy

All I want for Christmas are a pair of Air Yeezys.

Cross my heart, I will quit the game if I get these joints.

I was having a sneaker nerd moment with some of my folks from Obsessive Sneaker Disorder and I was insistent that the midsole and cupsole of the Air Yeezys was taken from the retro Air Assault shoe. My peeps are like nahh, the Air Yeezys take the sole off the Jordan III’s.

I’ma let y’all decide…

air assault
Air Assault retro

aj 3
Air Jordan III

Air Yeezy

And don’t front on tuning into Obsessive Sneaker Disorder’s talk show where we debate, commiserate, eviscerate and talk about everything great in the world of sneakers.

trace mag

The ladies from Brown Girls Burlesque are coming up in the game with a feature in TRACE mag’s annual ‘Black Girls Rule’ issue.

Brown Girls Burlesque has been on the vanguard of redefining the notion of beauty and sexuality for women of color. Did I say that these ladies were extremely fine? Don’t just take my word for it either. Copp the FREE download the TRACE magazine where they are featured and judge for yourself.

ROBBIE from UnKut asked me to go in on some tracks he compiled to see which one I thought should be considered the quintessential NYC anthem.

While NaS has crafted some incredible songs paying homage to the City everyone has to bow down to Kool G Rap’s ‘Streets Of New York’. The song is on par with a Monet masterpiece from a musical standpoint.

Don’t just take my word for it (or do), you can listen to all the music that I reviewed for UnKut, and even put in your own vote for the greatest NYC anthem of all time.
