cRap Music Fantasy League Q3 Update #6

kissing cousins

A special prize goes out to the person who guesses correctly the number of phonebooks that KanYe is standing on in order to look Curtis directly in the eyes.

Well today is the day cRap Music Moguls. The day we have all been waiting for. The clash of teh ghey titans goes head to head [ll]. Not that way, but then again who the hell knows how freaky these egomaniacs are. One thing is for sure, the only way to beat these terrorists is to spend some money. If you don’t put yourselves further into debt we could all end up chillaxin’ with Tupac and Biggie. Hopefully they have a pool out back.

The cRap Music Fantasy League is entering the home stretch for the third quarter and it has become a horse race for essentially five label owners provided Mitchy Slick doesn’t do anything too crazy like a triple murder suicide. That would earn him and his label owner iFUX a lot of points. Don’t get any ideas either FUX, without you on your blog grizzly where would I get to see all the iCandy of the hottest broads from UniVision?

As the quarters are about to end the blue chip, sureshot superstars always stand the fuck up. R.KELLY is getting all of label owners their points. Jay-Z opens a new 40/40 Club and whoever was smart enough to put the ‘old head’ on their roster is benefitting from that move. Let’s not forget your girl Foxy Brown, who manages to remain a point scorer without even releasing a note of music. The big story this quarter is all about Fisty Scent and ‘Ye Tudda. These two will both close out the Q3 scoring with platinum albums thanks to the hype machine that Universal Music Group operates. Let’s listen to a few songs from the WonderTwins latest albums…

I put together a few graphs to chart some of the specific info that was gleaned from the scoring this quarter. Shouts to El Gringo Colombiano for creating the spreadsheet that powered the cMFL.

money pts

Money Points > Notoriety Points
The pie chart above shows us that Notoriety Points were nearly one-fourth of the total points earned this quarter. Thanks to Remy Ma blasting the shit out of her former weedcarrier/wigbrusher and Foxy Brown just being her 7-30 self there was a good number of points to be had from rappers acting bad. Not bad meaning good, but bad meaning bad.

region pts

Regional Points
Here we see a bar graph that describes to us which regions were the heavyweights in the cRap Music Fantasy League. The West coast should go kill themselves by ghostriding their whips off the Golden Gate Bridge. How the hell are y’all gonna get pwned by international cRappers? Mitchy Slick, you got the whole Westside on your back player. It’s time to go in hard or that chick M.I.A. will have you beat. And that party people, would be fucked the fuck up.

ego mania

Teh Ghey Titan EgoMania
Some of the best artists mask their insecurities behind a facade of zealous self-assuredness. Fisty Scent was always a cocksure entertainer, but ‘Ye Tudda’s ego has gone out the roof to touch the sky. Somebody please get this man a spaceship.

There’s still a few weeks left in this quarter so it ain’t over ’til the Black lady sings. Here’s two more tracks from the saviors of Hip-Hop music. Fisty Scent wins this round easily because MARY J. BLIGE >>> Coldplay’s CHRIS MARTIN.

FISTY SCENT – ‘All Of Me’ (featuring MARY J. BLIGE

‘YE TUDDA – ‘Homecoming’ (featuring CHRIS MARTIN)

DJ Drama Really Is A Black… Who Knew?

drama

In case you didn’t know, BILLY X. SUNDAY grinds for the Evil Empire.

I could have sworn up and down that DJ Drama was just another white getting paid off this Hip-Hop shit. It’s hard to tell someone’s racial background on the internets, even when a picture is used. For all I knew Drama could have been using Photoshop to touch up his flicks and make himself appear “colored”. The Lord only knows how many bottles of bronze spritz Nicole Sherzinger must have applied to make her white ass the same complexion as Eve on last night’s VMA telecast.

Further proof that Drama really is a jig is the way the U.S. marshals along with the RIAA kicked down his door with pistols drawn in order to stop him and is cohorts from burning CD’s. We are talking about an abundance of law enforcement personnel used to stop some dudes from burning motherfucking compact disks. Not even compact disks with money earning white shit on them like some Beatles B-sides or the Bob Dylan lost tapes. We’re talking about Gangsta Grillz CD’s featuring Webbie and Lil’ Boosie. Isn’t there a war being fought in Iraq? Who greenlit this clusterfuck of Federal agents with automatic weapons?

See now, if Drama had been a white there wouldn’t have been all of this… Drama. Peep how Universal Music Group calmly submitted a lawsuit in California court in order to secure a cease and desist order from this company called BCD Music Group.

Universal Music Continues To Target Illegal Mixtapes

This is how white typically deals with one another when they are on that white supremacy white shit. There are no armed agents kicking down the doors to BCD Music Group. No newscasts with sheriffs stating that drugs are usually found during these raids so that is why officers are using machine guns. Just some paperwork being filed and a press release being issued. No one made up any bullshit about weapons of mass destruction being hidden or terrorists being harbored. Just some lawyers convening together with a judge. Shit is smooth like that in the world of the white.

That’s why KanYe had to perform on the VMA’s from the back porch. That’s where porch monkeys have to sing and dance. No way ‘Ye is gonna bump JusTim from the center stage, and even a bloated and visibly anesthetized Britney Spears is worth more money in the beautiful world of white than some jig that wears white sunglasses. That’s what KanYe gets for opening his big mouth two years ago and telling the whole world that George Bush doesn’t care about Black people. News flash to ‘Ye Tudda: NO ONE cares about Black people. Like Elvis Presley told me way back in the day, “Blacks are alright with me as long as they buy my records and shine my shoes.”

KanYe, if you want to be popular in the world of the white you better gets to shining some shoes playboy.

dj osama

In case you didn’t know, BILLY SUNDAY grinds for the Evil Empire.

With all this talk of KanYe, Fifty Cent, 40 Cal and Kenny Chesney releasing albums on September 11th we overlooked the one piece of media dropping on that day that will pwn them all. Osama Bin Laden has decided to drop another one of his mixtapes on that fateful day. As if he hasn’t done enough already. This nigga puts out even more mixtapes than Lil’ Wang.

Who the fuck distributes this nigga Osama’s shit? Is it Universal or BMG? Whoever it is, them niggas stay on they grizzly. Peep game… All these rap niggas record their albums in state of the art studios and have budgets to produce elaborate and expensive music videos. They have so much money they can buy champagne just to spit it at the television camera or pour it down a bitch’s back (for the ladies in the building, I use the word bitch in only the most respectful of manners). These rap niggas fly around in chartered planes and they have sex with 15year old virgins.

Muslamic motherfuckers be blowing themselves up just to taste some 15yr old poon. Ha! Them fools might be hardbody and shit, but Robert Sylvester Kelly is fucking 15yr old bitches and the only thing that nigga is blowing up is the Billboard charts. I still give them Muslamic motherfuckers hardbody points though, because look how many mixtapes Osama Bin Laden has dropped and that motherfucker’s studio is just a cave. This nigga prah’lee don’t even have electricity or running water and he is still making fucking music videos. How sick is that shit? Now he’s about to steal the thunder from your boy(s) KanYe and Fifty Cent when he drops his latest shit on September 11th tentatively titled, “I’m Still Standing Bitches, But Your Towers… Not So Much”.

How the fuck is Osama still putting shit out anyhoo? I mean, if we can wiretap everyone in America’s phones over the last six years how difficult can it be to listen in on the rest of the world? Keep in mind that most of the telecom consumers live in this hemisphere. You already know there is only a handful of phones in Antartica, and prah’lee even less in Africa. Hell, them niggas in Africa don’t even have shoes. What the fuck they need a phone for? Them European niggas got a bunch’a phones too, but after you separate the niggas talking that Deustchbank schit from the niggas talkin’ that Muslamic shiite you should already know who the terrorists are.

It’s like the real tall Isrealis also known as Zionists (Google that bitches, bitches meaning boys and girls) are getting paid everytime Osama drops a mixtape video, otherwise this motherfucker’s operation would have been shut down faster than a Michael Vick pool party hosted by O.J. Simpson with DJ Drama on the 1’s and 2’s. I can’t call it anymore party people, Kenny, KanYe, Fifty, Forty… It doesn’t even matter any more.

Get that nigga Osama pool out back!

2007 BLACK AUGUST CONCERT RECAP

dp'z

Peep your cousin BILLY SUNDAY over at XXL Mag Dot Com…

Black People Really Heart Progressive Hip-Hop…
Who knew?

Yesterday I skipped out on the ignoramus show also known as the XXL mag Dot Com comments thread to attend a concert organized by a progressive group called the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement. These are the types of negroes that are all about trying to fight for equality and justice in neighborhoods where the impoverished residents are constantly being harassed and threatened by the police. These are the traditionally under-served areas where the schools are failing and falling apart. There aren’t any healthy nutritional options for the residents of these areas and these are the neighborhoods where the law UNforcement is actually state sponsored terrorism. Basically, poor Black and Latino communities.

dpz

MXGM has been organizing a music event every August for the last ten years. The Black August concert helps raise funds for the MXGM to run some of their operations which include the CopWatch program that uses video to document and expose police brutality, and the seminars they host which teach people their rights and procedures to follow when being terrorized by police. The MXGM’s goal is essentially empowerment through education and community development. That shit might sound lofty and pie in the sky to some of you people but after over ten years of active resistance to Supremacy I see that MXGM is dedicated to their cause. And that’s more than I can say for myself.

com sense

I stopped believing that impoverished communities could be saved years ago. I’m more concerned now that working class and middle class communities are adopting the values of the poor. It’s impossible to transfer the value of education to a person that is part of the classic poverty set. That’s like feeding milk to someone who is lactose intolerant. Their internal system can’t digest it. The same way poor people can’t appreciate the value of education or hard work that doesn’t provide instant gratification. The Malcolm X Grassroots Movement has been defending a segment of the population that doesn’t even give a fuck about them. That’s some pretty heavy shit on my mind. I don’t know why some of the folks at the MXGM even carry on with their movement. It would be so much easier to just help lightskinned Blacks further assimilate like the NAACP does than to help the poor Black people find empowerment for their lives. Especially when those niggers will throw rocks at you at the end of the day anyhoo. But still the MXGM perserveres.

com sense

Yesterday’s concert was a tribute to all the political prisoners that the MXGM supports as well as a recognition of the 60th birthday of Assata Shakur. Blackstar was scheduled to perform and dead prez, who has been in the front of this movement from the gate was also going to bless the stage. In the back of my mind I thought that Common or KanYe might show up too since Chicago as a city has a long history in supporting grassroots movements. Whether it be for worker’s rights or anti-police brutality platforms. DJ Evil Dee and DJ D-Nice were listed as the music providers. This meant that I’d get to hear some Black Moon, KRS-1 and a whole lot of other rap music that hasn’t been on the radio in a decade, certainly no DipSet, Jeezy or Fifty Cent from the speakers on this night. I’m not complaining either, I’m just saying.

m1

A couple of acts opened the show up that were diverse and definitely setting the mood for a classic backpacker vibe. I don’t know if you cats have ever heard of this group from Chicago called Rebel Diaz, but they got on stage first. They have a Puerto Rican chick in their group who has that rapid fire rap style that so many Puerto Ricans can employ. How do they do that? The next group was a Hip-Hop harmonizing quintet called something God Iz. I kind of forget their name because I went to the bathroom and the bar and the vending area. I could still hear them performing and they had someone doing a beatbox as their background music. Just the usual Biz Markie type sound and nothing along the lines of a Dougie Fresh or a Rahzel. I was starting to feel like maybe I shouldn’t have begged Eskay to give me this assignment. The concert was starting to have the feel of one of those talent showcases that you might see in a church basement, except we were in the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, NYC.

mos

DJ D-Nice came on to do a set and he was having some technical difficulties with his equipment [||], he became so frustrated he cut his set short. Right behind D-Nice some of the RBG family got on the mic. Dudes name was Umi and I don’t know if he is part of the A-Alikes or not, maybe one of you white cats knows the deal on homey. White cats be knowing shit you don’t expect them to know. White cats were in the building too, but that’s always expected when I go to see good music somewhere. If you have a sick flow and a hard ass beat a white will get their bounce on to a song no matter what. Even if that shit is called ‘Kill ‘Dat Cracker!’. White didn’t overwhelm the audience this time like they did at the Rock The Bells show. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many Black people actually showed up for this event. My only explanation for this must be that MXGM was giving away too many comp tickets.

kweli

dead prez came onstage and that began the feature part of the evening. I have to give a shout to the show’s organizers for how they ordered the edutainment. Right after dead prez’ set they brought onto the stage several activists that defined the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement and the purpose of the struggle at hand. Please take a few minutes to read their ‘About Us’ website page and support the movement in any way that you think is progressive. These folks are putting in the infantry work that ultimately doesn’t get recorded or respected, but without their efforts I wonder where we all would be right now with our struggle with Supremacy.

Malcolm X Grassroots Movement

That’s when the show started up again and it didn’t stop until we were all Hip-Hop’d out. DJ Scratch did his turntablist thing. Mos Def came out and got the crowd rocking with his singing and emceeing. Mos Def is what being an emcee is all about. Most rappers don’t realize that being a Master of the Ceremony means that you have to keep the audience in check when tech problems arise. The Nokia Theatre sound crew had several problems with their equipment last night, but Mos kep everybody in the crowd laughing and ready to party. When a group of white up against the stage was yelling for Blackstar, Mos shut them down telling them that by yelling out it would not make Talib Kweli fall from the rafters. The show had an order and they were gonna have to wait. What we got for waiting was more than we paid for.

blackstar

We got a set from Common, whose ‘Finding Forever’ was not lost on this crowd of fans who prah’lee didn’t read the internets reviews of the rap music experts. We got a long set from Talib as well as the Blackstar hits that we knew were going to drop. I’ve seen Mos and Talib perform prah’lee six billion times in my life and I never get tired of their sets because they add a new wrinkle every time. It’s like these two friends are in their parent’s basement just kicking shit passing the trees back and forth and just having fun. One of my favorite points in Talib’s set was when Jazzy Joyce put on the instrumentals for NaS’ ‘I Can’ and then Talib induced the crowd to sing the chorus with him. LOL and Purple Hulk were definitely not part of this engaged and willing audience. The show closed with Mos Def performing ‘Umi Says’ and the entire theatre singing along with him. Overall, it was a great evening for peace, love and unity through Hip-Hop, and what do you know, Black people actually outnumbered the white in the audience. I guess Black folks really do love the Hip-Hop shit.

‘Ye Tudda Goes ‘Back To The Future’…

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

mcflys

The McFlys are about to drop…

What if I told you that KanYe West’s new album was from the future? Would you even believe me? Or would you accuse me of hyperbolic Stanism? Would you tell me that I was paid to write that, or would you say that I had become a ‘Ye Tudda dickrider [ll]. One of you is likely to say one, or all of these things by the end of this drop. Well anyhoo, here it is real quick. If you don’t copp ‘Graduation’ on September 11th you should prah’lee just go kill yourself. Go huff a gallon of paint, stick a hooker’s bedazzled stiletto in your eye socket and put you head in your momma’s oven. Kill yourself because you are killing Hip-Hop.

The new ‘Ye Tudda album is a soulful spaceship that is built to take you away from the knowledge that your credit is all fucked the fuck up, your car got repo’d and your rent is a month late. It’s the type of shit to make you want to get to your job an hour early, and your job sucks. It’s definitely drugs. You would agree with me if you had the experience that I just did while listening to the entire album previewed in a blacked out theatre. I walked out of the theatre realizing that some people come from the future to try to help us all get back there with them.

Let me go back into the past for a second… Several years ago I sat in the audience for a taping of the Def Poetry show. The host, Mos Def, introduced KanYe West as the “future of Hip-Hop”. What?!? Nigga please! This rap cat was part of the Roc-A-Fella movement and he wasn’t really even a rapper, but a producer. He recited his verse from ‘The Wire’. At the time what I didn’t know about this dude was that he was really all fucked up behind that car accident, but his resolve to rise above it was that much greater. So much so that he would do anything he had to do to become a success in the industry. There is nothing in the game worth more than a monster work ethic. Any game. When you add talent to that work ethic you go from being an important role player, like a Dennis Rodman, into a superstar, like Michael Jordan. KanYe West is the Michael Jordan of this rap shit, because he makes the dudes that play with him[ll] into superstars. Just look at the music he gave Jigga and Cam’Ron. He did for Common what Dilla couldn’t do. Would anyone even care about Lupe, Rhymefest or Cons without their association with ‘Ye Tudda?

Fast forward to the present, which actually requires me to rewind since it happened yesterday, but just stay with me. Shouts to my homeys at ThnkTank Marketing, whose peoples at SOHH (the competition at XXL Mag Dot Com) extended the notice to me of the ‘Ye Tudda listening experience. The RSVP on the flier was deaded days ago. There was no way I was going to win on this one. Oh well, I guess I would just grab an order of wings and fried rice and come back to my apartment and watch some cartoons. But wait, I know some people. And they know some other people. Shouts to FB and H.O. who have this online video shit OnSmash. And with my nigga Young Pistol in the building I was on the list bitches. Not only do I get to hear the most anticipated album of the year, but on Universal Music’s dime which included top shelf open bar free popcorn and some of the sexiest Blasian broads interning in the music business (Sony BMG show me what you got). I came to the spot twisted already after puffing some that *cough, cough* you already know. Kids, drugs are bad (in a Mr. Mackey voice), but when you are zoning out to music, it is all good.

As the music starts inside the theatre a smoke machine propels billows through the room. The light show was crazy, while clips from 2001: A Space Odyssey, Akira, Sailor Moon and motherfucking Tron videos played on the screen. If ‘Ye Tudda could deliver these visuals along with his CD it would already be game over. The music though is what I came for. There are some tracks on the album that are just ridiculous. The best was saved for last. The song ‘Big Brother’ was a tribute to Jay-Z that was serious, heartfelt and deep. It was the defining moment of the album without question. It made me realize how deep the bonds were that had brought everyone on the Roc label together. The experiences of traveling the world the first time will never be replaced. ‘Ye Tudda still has love for Jay, Dame and everyone from the Roc, but now he is moving on.

‘Graduation’ might be ‘Ye Tudda’s most soulful album ever. He’s created so many fucking anthems on this album it’s bananas. The ingredients seem to be mixing soul music with content from the soul. It’s not possible not to feel this nigga [ll]. I told you ‘Big Brother’ was the crowning achievement. You already know ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ is a realer theme song than ‘I Get Money’. At least for me it is. “La, la, la, la, wait ‘til I get my money right.” You gonna fucks with the joints ‘Drunk and Hot Girls’, ‘Champion’ and ‘Everything I Am’. My favorite joint was called ‘Flashing Lights’, and embarrassingly enough in the Q & A afterwards KanYe said that was the song for the ladies. Ouch! Well, I know a hit when I hear one, and that shit is the pop. I was a little disappointed at first to know that the album had no skits, but ultimately that is what made the joint dope too. It’s all soul music. No poorly acting rappers or rappers acting poor. This might be one of the realest albums ever made. It’s also worth my sixteen bucks or whatever it is the Virgin Megastore is going to charge my ass. Funny story, true story is that the last album I was this amped to buy before it hit the shelves was ‘Get Rich Or Die Trying’.
