Outfit Architecture…

Saturday, October 6th, 2012

I know I said I wasn’t gonna do anymore posts with the Outfit Architecture headline, but my lady Choclate Snowflake surprised me with some birthday swag so close to me heart I had to show them off.

The Modern Explorer series has to be in the top 10 of all time design themes from R.L. In one way or another the pieces are all highly detailed with classic Ralph Lauren appointments.

The boots are the Rag & Bone x Timberland collaboration which I previously caught in the black leather moccasin style.

The Rugby is so hard with sewn-on patches and elbow patches and a metal clip that toggles the neck closed.

To the people with intestinal tapeworms go the spoils. This custom-fit XXL made it over my belly (but barely). I’ma still squeeze into this I.T. for the fall tho’.

Chocolate Snowflake heard my calls for these Rag & Bone x Timbs. The ranger moc boot is what ALL Polo bears love to rock on their feet. The boots are handmade immaculate crack. Vibram outsole is the required minimum. Chea!

T.I. Is King Of dP RapMetrics…

Saturday, October 6th, 2012

I’ve prA’Li never posted a drop on this site which was favorable to T.I. Up until now that is. As I listened to ‘Big Beast’ on repeat I realized that T.I. had the strongest verse on the song. Initially, I was in awe of Bun B placing the word ‘onomatopoeia’ in a rap song. That shit has six(6) syllables and is hard as fux to spell and say.

But as I kept listening to the song it was T.I. who deftly crafted his verse and sprayed it with over a dozen polysyllabic words (14). His verses total word count was 168 so that means every 12 words he averaged one that was longer than three syllables. I consider that average rap music mastery considering that the white gawd of rap lyrics comes in at about 18 words for every polysyllabic word.

This isn’t T.I.’s defining average for polysyllabic word usage but it is his best by my record so I salute him for his efforts at redefining Southern rap themes in my eyes(ears)…

“In a six, I’m riding with a pistol grip, banana clip
From Simpson Road to Adamsville, I’m repping this Atlanta shit
Nigga trying to handle up, let’s see can they handle this
A hundred round at em, that ain’t no Louisiana shit
Drinking on that Hennessey, blowing on that cannabis
AmeriKKKa’s nightmare, trap nigga fantasy
A record full of felonies, searching for a better me
But choppers go off in my hood like Iraq, Cuba, Tel Aviv
Pretty nigga, let him be — fuck him, shorty
Sucker nigga I’ll never be, don’t give a fuck about it
Quick to round up on that Audi, make em get the fuck up out it
Nigga better be about it, he deserve it he allow it
What’s a coward to a kamikaze?
He ain’t robbed a man, ain’t predator or prey; the law of nature where I stay
I catch you slipping with that K, ain’t no illusion, no confusion
Better come up off that cake and all that jewelry or you’re snoozing”

Peep T.I. kick his verse in the official video for the track from Killer Mike’s phenomenal album ‘R.A.P. Music’ which currently gets my nod for best Hip-Hop album of 2012.

Apeman Evolution…

Friday, October 5th, 2012

Sean Price’s latest album has cover art from the the same dude who penciled up the supernatural classic ‘Monkey Barz’. The theme is Sean P is this hardbody intergalactic traveler who comes back to Earth to conquer the planet of the apes.

In this animation clip we learn that under Sean P’s spacesuit is his custom rugby and rock solid microphone. Sean Price triumphs over the apes to become Mic Tyson. Combing his love for cinema and comicbooks is some classic Mandela P! shit internets.

Click here to RSVP or call 212-491-2040

Join ImageNation Cinema Foundation and the Schomburg Center for the New York Premiere of Bell Rung: A Football Mindset. Scores of ex-players live a silent life of emotional, physical, and financial struggle resulting from their days in the professional arena, and endure lifelong struggles due to uncared for concussions.

Join moderator Michael O’Keefe of the NY Daily News, former All Pro Super Bowl champion Dorsey Levens, nuerologist Dr. Joelle Mast, director Zach Herman, producer Nick Basta and others, for a talk back following the screening.

Co-produced by Levens, Bell Rung asks the questions that need to be asked: Is it acceptable for professional football players to remain neglected by the league and owners as they confront a post-professional football life of disability and perpetual pain?

Should professional football players have to endure trauma-induced brain damage, early onset dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease, often beginning well before the age of fifty and resulting in astronomical medical expenses without appropriate coverage?

Is society content to allow these former sports warriors to be cast aside and forgotten when they are no longer part of our national entertainment? Bell Rung answers these seeks the answers.
