vote

BILLY X. SUNDAY says just get with it and register to vote.

The battle between KanYe and Fifty Cent was exactly one year ago. It was as exciting to see as a heavyweight wrestling match. KanYe was the brash, young contender and Fifty was the veteran. The hype and buildup was the best thing Hip-Hop has done in a while. No event this year generated the hype of that contest. The NaS album following Lil’ Wayne’s blockbuster has been our biggest story, but even that doesn’t come near the KanYe/Fifty publicity machine.

What the backstory of the KanYe/Fifty battle shows is that when people are motivated and activated they respond publicly. It was a great time for America in my opinion because it showed that we have a voice. We elected skinny jeans over white tee shirts. Basically. In many ways it was a test for the battle for the White House that drops this November. The Democrats are definitely the colorful cool kids while the Republicans are the older thugged out dudes. Think about it…

The Republicans have been using the model of block bully intimidation for their foreign and domestic policies. They were only fucking with the cats that couldn’t defend themselves on their own. Whether it was poor Iraqis or poor people from New Orleans the Republicans talked tough and showed them the bottom side of their boots. This is basically how Fifty Cent administers himself through rap music. Ja Rule was his Iraq. Fifty stays constantly getting at other rappers too simialr to U.S. foreign policy.

The Democrats are definitely the new, young hipster rap faction for the political world. Just because the Dems wear skinny jeans and crispy sneakers I don’t think that will make them light in the waist when it comes to dealing with other countries. Look how international the skinny jeans set is right now. M.I.A., Double O from Kidz In The Hall, SantoGold, I don’t remember who else right now, but all these cats are from other countries. My point is that the Democrats will be able to bridge the international divides that have been created by the current presidential administration.

You may like to listen to thugged out rap music. I’m not gonna say that shit is totally washed up either. Fifty has a few more incredible songs in him. I don’t know if I want to invest my vote in him for a whole album though. Where as KanYe is about to record an entire album using that vocoder autotune T-Pain device. That shit is going to be fire in the fucking clubs. My vote is going to KanYe West. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter who we vote for just as long as register and vote.

Show the tall Israelis that run these record companies (and our country) that you are activated.

POLITRICKS 2008: Eight Is Enough…

I went to a dinner party at my boy MALIK’s crib to watch the nomination speech from BARACK OBAAMA. In terms of political speak it was one of the best speeches I have ever heard. BARACK OBAAMA did a fantastic job of connecting JOHN McCAIN with the current presidential administration. I remember when the G.O.P. connected AL GORE to the CLINTON administration. That shit stuck like a motherfucker too.

What’s funny to me is that OBAAMA seems to be more BUSH-like policywise than JOHN McCAIN. Didn’t OBAAMA just co-sign the FISA bill that exempted the telecom providers from criminal prosecution? That single piece of legislation was one of the most damaging documents to the civil liberties of Americans. If the government isn’t going to protect our rights then no one will. I guess this is that own-ership that OBAAMA was referring to. The other G DUBBZ similarities are the two daughters and the reported past affinity for the “white girl” (no Alice Blackwell).

There isn’t much I gleaned from OBAAMA’s speech as to exactly how we are going to accomplish the goals that he has set out for us like returning industry back to America and educating the children. I shouldn’t have expected too much in the way of substantive methodology since the Republicans are backpedaling as we speak. The G.O.P. convention organizers are considering pushing back their shindig because of the hurricane now threatening the Gulf Coast.

Memo to the White House: (not like they read these damn things anyhoo)
You are already three years too fucking late.

My favorite part of OBAAMA’s speech was his reference to the droll 1980’s sitcom that starred DICK Van PATTEN called ‘Eight Is Enough’. Eight years of the G DUBBZ administration has certainly been enough for my viewing pleasure. It’s been high time to cancel this series. What I’m worried about is OBAAMA and BIDEN being the cast for the reruns.

POLITRICKS 2008: The Losers Get The Spoilers…

hillary supporters

The Democratic party is notorious for a centrism that has lost and won elections for them. This is a political party that tries to be everything to everyone. They change colors (puns always intended) depending on the demographic they are wooing. Did you know that there is a group of conservative voting Democrat congressmen from the South? These dudes vote in favor of pro-life and anti-immigration legislation among other things.

What I have witnessed in the last several months are the conservative leanings of HILLARY CLINTON as well. In front of her N.O.W. constituency she talks that pro-choice hoopla, but in front of the Blue Dog delegates she gets all on that R.F.K. “lynch a nigger” ish. At the end of the day this is how politricks are played. I’m just always surprised that people can’t see, or aren’t willing to see all the different sides. And ultimately shades.

Will HILLARY CLINTON supporters pull a NADER on the OBAAMA campaign and swing their votes to McCAIN? Possibly so. I think this has more to do with the prevailing mindset that OBAAMA is not trustworthy. No politician is trustworthy, but I think that “trust” has become a coded buzzword in politricks the same way “urban” is a coded buzzword in marketing. I wonder who these same people would have voted for if JOHN McCAIN were running against HILLARY CLINTON? I guess I will have to wait for 2012 to find that one out?

michelle

I was never comfortable with BARACK OBAAMA’s smoothness. This dude is too fucking cool. I think about my dad who wore a shirt and tie and every single day and he could still have a nigga moment where he cursed someone upside down until next Tuesday. OBAAMA never has any nigga moments. At least not anymore. I’m not comfortable with that.

HILLARY CLINTON deserved at least a ‘Ho Sit Down’. I wish it wasn’t just the blogs that gave it to her.

MICHELLE OBAMA is even smoother than BARACK OBAAMA. I can’t stand these people. They are too damn perfect. You are a fool if you don’t vote fort BARACK because he is Black, but after watching his wife spit her game you become a fool to the squared root power.

This Democratic campaign just became the juggernaut JOHN McCAIN and the G.O.P. were afraid of.

And MICHELLE’s wig was tee-ight! JANET JACKSON status.
