Cork Clothing knows the deal…

All this Foamposite madness came to its logical conclusion at Foot Locker on 34th Street. There was NO WAY that I was going to miss this coppurtunity. It definitely got crazy tho’.

I went from 34th Street to times Square in the hopes of finding a lineup which wasn’t ambushed with hypebeasts. That wasn’t going to happen for this run. The people were in the streets at every store whose doors were still open.

A riot was about to pop off on 34th Street. People were rioting to SPEND their loot, not to take the bankers on Wall Street to task, or the crooked politicians in cahoots with them. The sneaker consumption population is an American so wealthy he can buy $250 styrofoam shoes, yet so poor he can’t choose a Representative in Washington D.C. to hold down his dreams and aspirations.

I’m not taking shots at the sneaker consumption population either because I am thee.

Lifestyle Comeups…

What might appear to be a basic zip-up sweater vest is really some shit I’ve had on ice because it was EXCLUSY. A cashmere zip cardigan vest from the founder’s Collection. This is the type shit you wear to go see your mom.

Saying that makes me miss my mom. She put me up on Filene’s Basement when she was teaching at Francis Lewis HS in Fresh Meadows. Filene’s Basement in Fresh Meadows just shuttered their doors. SYMS is on their way out too.

Even tho’ my classic comeup spots close (R.I.P. BFO) I still keep finding the lifestyle I need to maintain my life’s style

He is the last Don.

Don Cornelius and his production ‘Soul Train’ is an indelible part of my life. Before music videos were being produced it was ‘Soul Train’ which featured the artists and the styles that would come to represent Black people and our presentation of American culture and lifestyle.

There aren’t any words to say to express my gratitude for Don Cornelius giving this filmreel to me and the rest of the world.

Thank you sir.

Facebook Is For Fossil Ass Dinosaurs…

I predicted Facebook’s demise several years ago when I got my first taste of the TWitter phenomenon. Facebook was fun, but TWitter was computer crack with reckless abandon. TWitter is the global lunchroom that Facebook wants to be.

Facebook had that awesome movie, but TWitter is the movie. It’s pr0n0graphy. Now that the kids are into it I predict TWitter is going to blow the fux up. Just like that meteor what killed off the dinosaurs.

Houston beat fire out of the Knicks yesterday with a stellar performance from a volleyball player. That’s right. Houston reserve Chase Budinger scored 19 points on 7 for 12 shooting. Budinger could might as well be a professional surfer with the way the Knicks are playing defense right now. The Houston Rockets were without their leading scorer and playmaker Kevin Martin yet they still handed the Knicks their eighth loss in nine games.

The Knicks finished off their road trip skidding to a halt. While Carmelo Anthony nursed his injured ankle and wrists Amar’e Stoudemire was mired deep in a performance quandary. Who are these Knickerbockers anyhoo? When did they become so enamored with the three point shot? This almost reminds me of the ill-fated Pitino era at MSG. But at least Pitino could instruct his players on how to execute a half-court trap.

The D’Antoni led Knicks are uninspired to extend their defense past arms length. And now even the teams offense has left them lonely. I was absolutely convinced several weeks ago when I personally watched the Knicks lackluster home court efforts that Mike D’Antoni would not be coaching this team into Black History month. Well, I’ve still got two(2) days left to dream I guess?
