Vado x Young Dro = No’Lo

A few months ago we listened to the Vado song ‘Polo’ which we thought might be an homage to the most Hip-Hop clothing line of all time. It wasn’t hardly worth the space in my DivShare account. So now Vado recruits another ‘Lo come lately fan for the remix – Young Dro.

Vado featuring Young Dro – ‘Polo’ (remix)

Between the two of these numbskulls they couldn’t name a single piece of official lifestyle. They aren’t just trendhumpers and dickriders in their lyrics, but also with the imagery they use to manifest those rhymes. Here are some of the pics from the video shoot they just completed for the song.

Are the chicks on the wings holding croquet mallets? Aspiration lifestyle fail to whoever styled these broads.

sliiime

Obligatory posse shot with no one holding any vintage heat. They must have just come from the PRL section at Macy’s. SMH

sliiime

Okay, I can’t hate on the toggle sweater.

sliiime

Now I gotta go burn my rugby.

sliiime

Is this dude Dro rocking ‘Lo or Rugby?

sliiime

OG shockwave

I’m inching closer to my dreams of becoming a bonafide filmmaker. Okay, my work with Rafi and Cas IS indeed official filmmaking, but I’m getting closer to having my own production company. Okay, BluCheezTV is my own production company, but I’m one step away from producing my first project that someone pays for. And that makes me another step closer to producing a film on the Decepticons and the 1980s New York City.

When I make it big I won’t be buying myself a Cadillac or a BMW because those things aren’t really a city kid’s dream. And for a kid who used to steal cars I can tell you that it sux to come out of your house and see your shit gone. Stolen or more than likely towed. Making city kid moves requires nothing more than a fresh pair of kicks. And mine will be the freshest.

The NIKEiD program is featuring the revisioned Air Trainer. This time however they have added all their latest technological bells and whistles to make the cross trainer the most highly evolved sneaker on the planet. With a forefoot lateral strap and a Flywire base atop the 2009’s 360 air platform this might be the lightest and strongest shoe ever made.

My design has royal purple patina leather, nubuck and a personalized heel. It’s an homage to a friend of mine who helped me get to this point in life. Way back when I had no idea what I really wanted to do with my life. My friend knew that I had to do something other than what I was doing and what he was doing. He told me that I couldn’t go with him on his mission. That I had to go off and do my thing. So here I go now. Hail Meg!

break fast

Candidate for best picture ever.

This pic is like food p0rn.

Unfortunately, for one unlucky bad boy this was his last meal.

I recall eating in the Chelsea Diner on West 23rd Street one morning after leaving the Tunnel disco. The place was ram-packed and thugged the fuck out. Some dude and a chick started beefing with each other until dude smacked her in the face with glass.

In the ensuing melee I bolted the joint with my crew to skip out on the tab as did several other people. One of the cats juking the tab ran into the street without looking and was hit by an ambulance. He hopped up after a few seconds and kept running.

This was pretty much a typical night after you left the Tunnel. Shenanigans were gonna pop off somewhere soon because mofos were irresponsibly intoxicated. If I had been at the diner on West 14th Street where sonn got his wig peeled you can believe I would have been the one maniac looking to eat someone’s untouched cheeseburger.

Police Brutality Isn’t Just For Poor Blacks…

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Remember when only the poor Black would get shot up by the police? Shout out to Rudolph Giuliani. Those were the good ol’ days of police brutality. Those murders would be swept under the rug easily because frankly, who cares about poor Blacks? Police brutality has become more problematic recently because now working class and even middle class Blacks are having their wigs pushed back. That’s Hip-Hop jargon for being murdered.

Is Hip-Hop to blame for law enforcement officer’s attitudes towards young Black males? I suppose Hip-Hop could be the scapegoat if you were lazy and didn’t feel like truly examining the attitudes that these armed officers have with their unarmed victims. For crying out loud, Oscar Grant was in handcuffs and in a prone position when he was murdered by the police.

dj henry

Like Sean Bell, the latest victim Danroy Henry Jr. was in his vehicle when his life was taken. The earliest news reports claimed that he was using his vehicle as a weapon against officers, but the passengers in the car state otherwise. This was the mistake of the cops by not killing everyone in the car. Three Black males in a vehicle is normally grounds for three funerals. Let God and the lawyers sort out the details is the standard operating procedure.

So now that even Black male college students aren’t immune from the sting of the police state where can a young Black man go to find some equity and peace of mind in the great land called America?

Apparently only in a cemetery.
