This track is just what I needed to erase the Drake album from my rap palate. No secret valentine rap whispers or butterfly bars on this song. Just punch you in the face rhymes over the marching drum beat.

You already know how I do when the fanboy music video director in me gets ignited [ll]? The video game 300: March To Glory provides the imagery. I’m just the conduit so you can do it.

Look at us cheesing with Killer Mike after the Run The Jewels show.

My dad once told me that you never salute an ’empty head’. What he meant was that unless a cap was worn you were not to salute an officer.

rtj2

Look at Combat Jack and El-P giving all types of effed up salutes. LOL.

The Run The Jewels show was JUST like this video for 36″ Chain

Please leave this webpage if you don’t think Kendrick Lamar is the hottest rapper in the game now. Or at least the most talked about even standing next to Jay-Z.

Virtue of the fact that people are calling his verse on another rapper’s song ‘his song’ is the proof positive that Kendrick struck a nerve. The real funeral verse from Kendrick Lamar to all these other rappers isn’t on the Big Sean song however. Back when Kendrick gave Jay-Z a guest spot on his ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe (remix)’ track is when every other rapper in the game got slayed.

The King Of Rock Darryl McDaniels raps harder than he ever did on this episode, spitting about coming up under the influence of the Cold Crush and the Furious Five, the rise of Run-DMC, the GOAT rap group, alcoholism, being an orphan, the death of Jam Master Jay and the eventual break up of the group.

DMC also talks about his lifelong love for comic books and how he’s about to publish his own under his Darryl Makes Comics company. This interview is guaranteed tougher than leather.

ThirstinHowl

The most important rapper over 40yrs old isn’t Jay-Z. Thirstin’ Howl the 3rd is rap’s MOST important independent artist not named Tech-9. Thirstin’s perserverance and devotion to the lifestyle is legendary. Still rapping. Still styling. Still skilling this shit after ALL these years. Salute this 5 star general when you see him on these internets streets.

This mini-movie is a collection of verses behind some real cinema noir storytelling. Thirstin’ and I have spoken on several occasions and this man recognizes what the video platform means for bringing people to his artistry. Thirst is taking the story of his life and making movies.
