Dirtyjerz sent me a link to the Rochester Big & Tall stores online catalog. I’m checking for some outerwear right now. Something bulletproof to keep the shots from the haters off me.

Police Brutality Isn’t Just For Poor Blacks…

Remember when only the poor Black would get shot up by the police? Shout out to Rudolph Giuliani. Those were the good ol’ days of police brutality. Those murders would be swept under the rug easily because frankly, who cares about poor Blacks? Police brutality has become more problematic recently because now working class and even middle class Blacks are having their wigs pushed back. That’s Hip-Hop jargon for being murdered.

Is Hip-Hop to blame for law enforcement officer’s attitudes towards young Black males? I suppose Hip-Hop could be the scapegoat if you were lazy and didn’t feel like truly examining the attitudes that these armed officers have with their unarmed victims. For crying out loud, Oscar Grant was in handcuffs and in a prone position when he was murdered by the police.

Like Sean Bell, the latest victim Danroy Henry Jr. was in his vehicle when his life was taken. The earliest news reports claimed that he was using his vehicle as a weapon against officers, but the passengers in the car state otherwise. This was the mistake of the cops by not killing everyone in the car. Three Black males in a vehicle is normally grounds for three funerals. Let God and the lawyers sort out the details is the standard operating procedure.

So now that even Black male college students aren’t immune from the sting of the police state where can a young Black man go to find some equity and peace of mind in the great land called America?

Apparently only in a cemetery.

Meet The Yankees 2011 Ace – Cliff Lee

Last night’s ALCS game was a passing of the torch for the 2011 Yankees. Andy Pettite will be retired and Cliff Lee will be throwing his cutter for the boys in the Bronx. Texas can’t up with what the Yanks will offer Lee for his services, even with a lucrative television deal in place.

Baseball is going to have to tweak their product again. Home runs, inter-league play, wildcard series for the playoffs are all good features but the game is still being outpaced by football and basketball as a viewing pastime. It’s time to do something pretty drastic. I’m thinking that baseball games need to be shortened to six innings. Like when we were in Little League.

MLB already has 162 regular season games, a spring training and a post-season that doesn’t end until Thanksgiving. And what do they do with all of this time? They suck. Trust me, I love baseball more than I prA’li should and I never leave baseball games until the final out (unless I have my nephew with me and he can’t sit still).

Either that or baseball is gonna have to allow players to hit each other with baseball bats. But that would just be crazy right?

Morgan State homecoming >>> Morehouse College homecoming (extreme nullus)

Sean Price x Rock (Heltah Skeltah) – ‘Church’

The College Music Journal festival kicks off tonite here in NYC and as usual I have myself triple booked to attend showcases all around town. The weather is craptastic right now so instead of stunting in a pair of Dunks I am pulling out my ol’ reliable shit kickers.

The classic 6″ waterproof boot in the brown oiled leather is what I like to use for when rainy dayz meets CMJ shows. These boots will be stepping in puddles containing beer, urine and possibly vomit (COLLEGE music journal) so I need to have footwear on that can be wiped down as fast as I change venues.

I’ll break out the nubuck after all the college kids have gone home.
