Looking Into The Mind Of A Madman…

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

A special forces soldier walked into a village near his army base in Afghanistan and summarily slaughtered more than a dozen civilians. Most of them were children with the youngest victim being only 2 years old.

This is what you get when you have been a part of the LONGEST U.S. military operation of all time. ALL TIME! The war in Afghanistan is over ten years old. That means this soldier was a youthful 28 back when this thing was initially set in motion. Several deployments into Afghanistan and dude finally flipped his wig.

I’m happy he wasn’t stateside. Are we going to have to quarantine the soldiers returning from war and make them all pass a mental fitness test on Guantanamo? Maybe the sound of a baby crying sends these dudes into the massacre machine blackout mode? I just hope the shit we are stealing from the Afghan soil is gonna be worth all the carnage we bring back to our shores

DP Quits The Shoe Game…

Monday, March 12th, 2012

I’m about to take a sabbatical from buying sneakers after I got this news yesterday. I just did a drop on the release of the white/red Air Jordan XIV (14) and then I learn that Jordan Brand IS re-releasing the Black/Red (BRed) XI (11) sneakers for the December holiday rush.

WTF?!? I predicted this shit after all the madness from the retro XI ‘Concord’ release this past December. Nike just retro’d the BRed XI’s in a package back in 2008 and now they are going back into your wallet again with a higher unit price on the same shoes.

Yo, I swear after I copp these Air Jordan 2012 ID ‘Altitudes’ I am not buying another sneaker for the rest of 2012. I’m not even going to buy a ‘comeup’ pair of shoes. Nothing. Nada. The sneaker game is now for fools and childrens. I’m dipping off from the game until Nike retros the Galaxy Foamposites.

Rock, Sk8, Roll, Bouuuunce!

Monday, March 12th, 2012

My homey from The Shoe Game, G-Roc invited me to go rollersk8’g at the Atlanta hotspot called Cascade. This is the joint which was highlighted in the movie ‘Roll, Bounce’. Sunday night is the popoff at Cascade when all the college heads and young people get they roller boogie right. Sure enough the crowd was ready to ‘TURN UP’ (newest Atlanta lingo for going ham).

I haven’t sk8’d since the closing of the Empire roller rink in Brooklyn so I was a bit rusty, actually dusty, but I finally got around the rink with my stiff leg technique. It was fun to watch the sk8rz go in on their favorite jams. The deejay was spinning strictly southern rap and when the hottest song in Atlanta dropped the whole rink got on the floor to ‘TURN UP’.

The Smallest Big Three…

What is the real issue with these Knickerbockers? Is it the offense. Is it the defense? Is it the effort? Maybe its the talent? All the promise we found with Jeremy Lin and a revamped lineup has evaporated faster than the mist this dream flew in on.

It’s too simplistic to blame the Knick problems on the effectiveness of their biggest star player Carmelo Anthony. We all knew that Anthony wasn’t the young player who came to Denver almost a decade ago. It’s too easy also to take a shit on the head coach Mike D’Antoni. We all know that even with a peak performing engine guided by MVP point guard Steve Nash D’antoni still couldn’t sniff the ass of an NBA Finals series.

So maybe these Knickerbockers are who we thought they were all along? A mediocre 9th or 10th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Oh and yeah, trade ‘Melo and fire D’Antoni.
