THE NEW CLASSICS…

Sunday, March 4th, 2012

I’m riding out on this Year of the Dragon wave hardbody. From my Air Jordan 2012s to my lifestyle apparel I’m making sure I rep the Dragon and all the good tidings it has to offer me.

The Polo s/s knit is from the Big & Tall section so you know it’s a MUST COPP.

Beautiful embroidered details overall so you can’t front on me Internets.

And just to keep something crispy in the stash you have the classic colorblocked summer knit.

Get Ready For Combat…

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

The Combat Jack Show turned a corner somewhere back there when it wasn’t just for shits and giggles anymore, because it was for real. I can’t even point to the day or the moment when I realized this. But I knew it was real, and everyone in the room where the podcast is recorded knew it was real.

It was all a dream when Redman sat inside the booth with us the other night.

A beautiful, triumphant dream.

Redman’s journey thru Hip-Hop is an ill doctrine. Like so many other kids who first experienced Hip-Hop and knew they had to capture some part of the art for themselves Redman was just that true believer for himself. Representing the legacy of artists from Brick City New Jersey, Redman is one of the top 5 rappers of all time. ALL TIME.

Before Tyler the Creator would sit on his own psychiatrist couch and before Eminem would use Reggie Noble’s bugged out narcotic flow with the gimmick of whiteness Hip-Hop blessed us with Redman. The Combat Jack Show recounts the journey with Redman while we reminisce on some stories which no one else ears have heard. This show is classic like the artist sitting with us. The night was epic madness. Enjoy.

Get ready for Combat…

Shouts to all the sponsors for this webcast webisode of the Combat Jack Show. New Era, Poland Spring, Doritos/Frito-Lay. Crown Royale, Guinness and, as you might expect, medicinal marijuana.

When you are fuxing hardbody with Redman you better have the super official snacks on deck.

Red asked me, “Who ate up all the birthday cake Oreos dP?!?”

The organized confusion going down in the booth.

The stars were in the building even tho’ the rain put a fog in the sky. PNC Studios has been on fire because of the Combat Jack Show. It took a minute to get the spaceship up into the atmosphere but we are flying high right about now. All puns and double entendre intended.

After the show and post-show meeting wraps we like to have a little early breakfast bangout in one of the local greasy spoons. This is the ‘No Joke’ cheesesteak from the spot on Flatbush Avenue next to the old movie theatre.

Off To See The WZRD…

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

WZRD is the continued evolution of the artist Kid Cudi. He consistently eschews the labels of rapper and Hip-Hop artist to create music that compels his spirit. Cudi may never have been a rapper, but instead he is a kid who used rap to propel himself into the upper atmosphere. Now that Cudi is above the clouds he can fly free.

What may have been holding Kid Cudi tethered to the Earth were his addictions which he is happy to say he has discarded at this point. Salute this man for staying on his evolutionary timeline and producing an album which is genre bending like KanYe West’s ‘808 & Heartbreaks’ split the barrier of rap and soul music. Fux with WZRD.
