Where Are You Yeezy?!?

yeezy

As I walked my favorite retail sneaker corridor – West 34th Street, I chopped it up with some of the sneaker fiends thatr had been camped out for several days in anticipation of the latest release of NIKE’s Air Yeezy sneakers.

To say the least the conversations and interactions were fun. These dudes and dudettes(who knew?) are the reason why I keep collecting my shoes. At the end of the day it is all for the love of rubber and leather. These folks got sole.

Tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month. This typically means I hold it down in the Brooklyn Museum of Art for their Target 1st Saturdays program. The music has been so shitty lately that I haven’t bothered going to the museum. They are playing the movie ‘Pee Wee’s Big Adventure’ though so I may walk across the street just to watch that.

Speaking of a big adventure, who walks in Brooklyn?

Buckshot Shorty, he sounds like an automatic…

The new Brooklyn dad. He looks like Combat Jack.

I was thinking about have a Sneaker Fiends Unite! NYC tour, but not unless we have more than five (5) people.

Sheeeeeit, I can always go sneaker shopping by my lonesome.

Dunk premiums are on sale right now. The pricepoints range from $40 to $60, but if we put our paper together we can negotiate some serious deals.

I just caught these Tampa Skate Park SB’s for $60 after I put on my super haggle steez of show an go. Show your money and then act like you are going to walk out of the store. Cash rules everything around us and that is how deals are made.

By a show of hands let me know if you are trying to make the rounds tomorrow.

DEATH – ‘Politicians In My Eyes’

In the long storied history of rock music’s rebel musicians I put Game Rebellion at the top of my list. Not so much for the work they have already done but mire for their potential to change the urban music soundscape. They have all the talent of a Bad Brains and all the good looks of a Boyz 2 Men. If they were white they would be the pop music perfect storm combining teen angst with socio-politically conscious lyrics. The band also has that pop music prerequisite which is called sex appeal.

Game Rebellion has been on their grind for a minute and I try to encourage them by reminding them it takes ten years to become an overniight success in the music industry, unless, of course, you are Asher Roth, but despite all of that I stll have high hopes for the band. What are you doing tomorrow night? Why don’t you come down to S.O.B.’s and hang out with me and watch Game Rebellion do their thing?

DOOOOOOOOOOM!

doom

So you know I have been stanning ridiculous on the new DOOM album ‘Born Like This’. It is so good it’s pushed ‘808s & Heartbreak’ from the rotation in my iTunes as the album I play straight through to inspire my madness. So good indeed that I was motivated to put together another fanboy video.

A few months (or maybe a year ago) I put together an MF Doom compilation CD and issued it along with a Fantastic Four comic book and a Doctor Doom Marvel Icons action figure (C.S. calls them dolls and I hate that). Shout to the folks that actually PayPal’d the kid some bucks for those sets.

I ended up going to eBay to buy another Dr. Doom action figure since I had shipped away all the joints in my collection. When the package arrived this week I plotted my video shoot. Even though the figure has many points of articulation it still wasn’t as posable as I had hoped. I played around with a few different looks but the best one is the look I kept repeating.

I set out this beautiful weekend with an unlimited Metrocard and my backpack filled up with cameras and equipment to film Dr. Doom taking over New York City, or at least just enjoying the gorgeous weather.

From Clinton Hill to Times Square we encountered curious and concerned tourists who feared for my life as I shot some of the scenes while lying down in the middle of Fifth Avenue traffic.

I take this shit real serious when I get inspired. One day I will have the budget to hire the people that have the talent to let you see my crazy visions.

Word to the 20 inch Zenith that my cousin Raekwon owned.

Believe it.
