I got the hankering for a new chapeau so I hit up the New Era flagship to see what they were holding that was close to my heart

Sunday, March 31st, 2013dP’s Classic Addiction…
Sunday, March 31st, 2013I’m so booted right now I can’t even talk kicks. All I want to do is rock my Timbs from here to forever. No hype, no fancy marketing, no bullshit. Just classic dopeness that stands the test of trends and time.
I scrambled to this old mom and pop shoe spot off Nassau Street when I saw they had the 7-eye moc chukkas in their window. I should have asked if they had them in my size but I hate to jinx my shoes when I don’t have my paperwork in order.
Thanks to Combat Jack he paid up an invoice I gave him for his Complex TV project. With a few extra bucks I went right after these boots. I didn’t pay my phone bill. I didn’t pay my light bill. I’m a man with his priorities dead set on his addictions.
I have a link at Timberland, but even my connect can’t scare up a pair of these handsewn 59093s. I needed this backup pair internets. I needed them like you wouldn’t understand if you don’t own a pair of these boots.
Outfit Architecture…
Wednesday, March 27th, 2013Chocolate Snowflake is dipping off on me this weekend for a trip upstate to our post-Armageddon hideout. Up in the mountains springtime is straining to popoff under the still unthawed snow. Spring will come tho’ this much is true. And if I was up in those woods hiking with C.S. I would put my Lifestyle together something like this…
Winter/Spring suedes are some of my favorite Lifestyle I.T.’s because this is when you really get to enjoy the sublime materials Ralph Lauren uses to craft his pieces.
Fireman’s jacket with lobster clasps, quail hunting vest, wool shooting shirt with elbow patches and lambskin suede button down. Only my peoples Timeless Truth or Meyhem Lauren and the Outdoorsmen would recognize each of these I.T.’s as Lifestyle.
The lambskin suede shirt was a comeup in Marchall’s for $99.
When you turn your R.L. pieces inside out is when you really get to enjoy the craftsmanship applied to these garments. This is the reason that Ralph Lauren has its reputation. Not for the big logos or graphic designs, but because these pieces are built to last.
If I was going to the mountain I would have brought these World Hiker mountaineering boots. My ace at Timberland informed me that these boots will be making a return later this year for the 40th anniversary of Timberland. This is great so I can keep a pair on ice as the ultimate deadstock.
Since I’m staying in the city I’ll be rocking the City boot.
Lifestyling 101…
Sunday, March 24th, 2013Are y’all heads getting ready for the REAL spring season to drop? Hells chea you are and I know some of you are busy building outfits to stunt in the streets. Ralph Lauren made it easy for us with this Wild River Canoe Class series of I.T.’s. Similar to some of the recent graphic print series like Ocean Challenge, Wild River is colorblocked cleanly and brightly with all kinds of official text and tags on the pieces.
Let’s start with the Challenge jacket…
Bells, whistles, pulls, zippers and an above the waist swag that is clean and neat. Jackets are great I.T.’s because they rock in several seasons.
I fux with the full zip fleeces and the pullys.
I’ve seen a version of the pully with an integrated hood and an ID plate on the chest. That shit will be one of the superstar pieces of this series
I’m looking to top off these pieces with a chapeau from the series. I like the fit of these caps more than Ocean Challenge ballcaps which sat on my scalp like a yarmulke. I am Hebrew after all, but my style is so gentile.
I hope that patch pulls off.
Since I have been squeezing my fat ass into RLX pieces why wouldn’t I also try to get into this knit or tee?
Polo Ralph Lauren makes it easy for me to look like I give a fux about white water wild river rafting and canoeing. It’s called Lifestyling Internets. It’s what we do.
