Eminem, SlaughterHouse and Yelawolf – ‘2.0 Boys’

This collective is what those Dr.Dre headphones were made for.

Rap nerds unite! Six uber lyrical rappers in a pissing contest on tape. Elliott Wilson was right when he TWitted that this song here would have raps fans shitting on their keyboards. Rockabye Review stays on they grizzly. They transcribed the entire song for review by the internets. Let’s do some math and see who built the sickest verse.

Understand that each rapper’s verse is like a jigsaw puzzle and the complexity of each puzzle rises with the addition of polysyllabic words. These words have to be inserted into the rapper’s bars properly for the puzzle to fit. We’ll crunch the numbers and see if our ears tell us the same thing that the arithmetic does.

royce Royce da 5’9″
Total word count = 170
Polysyllabic words = 10
Longest word = hieroglyphics

Avg. = 17.0

eminem Eminem
Total word count = 223
Polysyllabic words = 9
Longest word = Illuminati

Avg. = 24.75

joell ortiz Joell Ortiz
Total word count = 200
Polysyllabic words = 5
Longest word = definitively

Avg. = 40.0

Budden Joe Budden
Total word count = 194
Polysyllabic words = 7
Longest word = cesspoolers

Avg. = 27.7

crooked Crooked I
Total word count = 157
Polysyllabic words = 8
Longest word = psychotic

Avg. = 19.625

yela Yelawolf
Total word count = 291
Polysyllabic words = 9
Longest word = Illuminati
Avg. = 32.33

Royce pwned this track by his average score and Joell Ortiz came in last average wise, but the Joell Ortiz verse was the more sonically creative and the Yelawolf verse was just a ginormous feast off the track. In terms of impact I would score the song like this…
1. Royce
2. Crooked
3. Yela
4. Ortiz
5. Em
6. Budden

Sean Price told me to stop fuxing with Snickers. He was like, “Snickers is made to look like a Black man’s penis, and what the fux is that nougat shit that always be hanging from people’s lips?” ROFL.

True to life if you’re a hardbody rapper you might should avoid candy bars before you end up spitting candy bars. So here’s a collection of pauseworthy candy bar pics. And don’t act like Sean P ain’t warn you…

MEYHEM LAUREN IS SOOOO ILL…

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

meyhem

Meyhem Lauren released his debut project last week titled ‘Self Induced Illness‘. The project is a double album of beats and rhymes dedicated to NYC’s golden era of Hip-Hop. Instead of being on some when-they-reminisce type vibe it remains true to the spirit of the early 1990s music which was to stay low, bag hos and stack figures. With the occasional night out with the fellas to get drunk and beat the shit out of someone caught slippin’.

Fuck what you heard, that is the essence of NYC rap. You take each day for what is given and you realize that somewhere nearby someone isn’t as fortunate as you are. That is the perspective Meyhem employs throughout this project. You can clearly hear it in some of the classic anthems he has crafted like his paean to all graff writers ‘Got The Fever’.

I’m happy that Meyhem Lauren made this project so comprehensive. 41 tracks is a lot of music and I wouldn’t suggest that you listen to this album straight thru unless you are making a run from New York to Richmond with one of those things. But with this project you have a complete Meyhem Lauren portfolio. You get the panoramic view of his flows and his rhyme skillset. Meyhem Lauren is a fresh man, fux that XXL corporate bullshit.

The Outdoorsmen crew has ample features and that means Action Bronson and Meyhem do their Lethal Weapon duo shit hardbody. I love some of these J-Love tracks which are so reflective of 90s era rap. Thorotracks, Juelz Polar and Nickle Plated also supply some sonic bangers to this project. If you want to hear some rap music from the radio then don’t click any of the links I’ve supplied below. This rap right here is too real for your radio. Meyhem Lauren is too ill for that bullshit.

Meyhem Lauren – ‘Still Golden’

Meyhem Lauren – ‘What Kind Of Life’

Meyhem Lauren – ‘Queens’

Meyhem Lauren fest. Animal – ‘Amigo AKA We Stole Fire’

Meyhem Lauren – ‘Another Hustle’

Meyhem Lauren – ‘Cash Is King’

Meyhem Lauren feat. Gab Gacha, Action Bronson and Animal – ‘Day After Day’

If you downloaded any of these preview tracks, please logon to iTunes and support Meyhem Lauren’s ‘Self-Induced Illness‘.

I fux with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Don’t get bamboozled by the ‘suggested’ admission price. You can give them $2 bucks and receive your admission button. That’s what I do.

The Met always reminds me of the majesty contained in the planet’s earliest cultures. Black people, or whatever they were called back then were glorious luminary beings.

And women were respected as goddesses and lifegivers.

Their beauty shined like gold in the sunlight.

A day at the Met can be a priceless experience.

Occasionally I see something that reminds me that I’m also royalty.
