Dallas Penn Is The Dark Avenger…

Monday, February 6th, 2012

With these metallic red foams I complete my set of sneakers I’m calling the Dark Avenger pack.

Along with the Pewter and Royal Blue Foams I have all the colorways to complement an Iron Patriot outfit.

Now I think I need to start up my own team of superhero sneaker Avengers.

Cork Clothing knows the deal…

All this Foamposite madness came to its logical conclusion at Foot Locker on 34th Street. There was NO WAY that I was going to miss this coppurtunity. It definitely got crazy tho’.

I went from 34th Street to times Square in the hopes of finding a lineup which wasn’t ambushed with hypebeasts. That wasn’t going to happen for this run. The people were in the streets at every store whose doors were still open.

A riot was about to pop off on 34th Street. People were rioting to SPEND their loot, not to take the bankers on Wall Street to task, or the crooked politicians in cahoots with them. The sneaker consumption population is an American so wealthy he can buy $250 styrofoam shoes, yet so poor he can’t choose a Representative in Washington D.C. to hold down his dreams and aspirations.

I’m not taking shots at the sneaker consumption population either because I am thee.

The good people at Foot Locker are calling February the #HottestMonthEver. To celebrate this Foot Locker got the Knicks to loan them some time on the hallowed hardwood of Madison Square Garden for the bloggerati to shoot a few hoops..

The same floor where Larry ‘Granmama’ Johnson made an impossible four(4) point play. The same floor that John Starks dunked on Michael Jordan and the whole Bulls team. The same floor where Willis Reed earned his ‘chip.

The whole point was to test drive some of the models available at the premiere footwear dealership. LeBron 9s, Kobe 7 Supremes, Rose adiZero 2s were just some of the shoes you could test drive on your way to the hoop.

After the scrimmage Foot Locker treated us to preview all the styles that are dropping in the month of February.

In the most wintry of months you can see that Foot Locker will be bringing the HEAT.

The Boot Camp Clique Chronicles…

I’ve got a FREE pair of deadstock Timberland Fusion Field Boots (men’s sz 12) for the first person to tell me the DP.com magic phrase from 2011.

The Fusion Field Boots are made with a waterproof leather upper for a dry, comfortable fit, and a compressed EVA midsole for dependable shock absorption. The Timberland recycled Green Rubberâ„¢ outsole provides aggressive traction on tricky surfaces.

This is how I end up going on missions to acquire kicks and other elements to accentuate my swag repertoire. Just a simple encounter with Bek Live on the Deuce reminded me that there are so many other brands which deserve my dollar loyalty for their legacy of creating well made apparel.

The Descente brand has long been a sportsmens favorite for their biking gear and their ski wear. I picked up this ski jacket over the weekend off the eBay system for only $25 bucks and FREE shipping.

The aquamarine and royal purple hits reminded me of the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aquas’ that I had more than twenty years ago. I looked them up on eBay and the prices weren’t too enticing at about $300 for the retros issued five of so years ago.

Nike’s Jordan Brand division has just done a re-boot (you see what I just did?) of the VIII style called the 8.0 and they even have an ‘Aqua’ inspired colorway. The fact that these shoes are just sitting on shelves collecting dust means that by next winter I’ll have at least two elements to my ‘Aquaman’ outfit.

Now I need to find a ‘LO sweater which ties this whole thing together.

Something in royal purple…
