The story isn’t about another second half meltdown for my Cowboys, but for a glimmer of greatness showing its face in Detroit. The Lions were as piss poor a football team as the city they represent was a former thriving municipality.
The Lions had fallen all the way the fuck off into a veritable abyss, but now in the first month of the 2011 Not For Long season they are one of the only two(2) undefeated teams. Unfortunately for them the other undefeated team is in their division and the reigning Super Bowl champs – The Green Bay Packers.
I don’t know how long these plucky Lions will remain undefeated, but at least their game on Thanksgiving against the Packers will be Must See TV. The DP.com Pick ‘Em Pool is four(4) weeks in and I’m sniffing the leader of the pack like a beagle after the fox. Here’s the lineup prior to Monday nite’s Colts-Bucs tilt…

Maybe next year, after we’ve traded away Reyes and Wright we might could get some young blood to start this thing all over again and more importantly reduce the payroll. But for now we can revel in the kind of lackluster achievement that makes most fans wear paper bag hats.

Right after Rod Laver the three stripes conscripted a Romanian tennis superstar to host their signature tennis shoes. Ilie Nastase was nicknamed the Romanian Rocket for his all-out cross court baseline to net style of play.
I had my whole U.S. Open outfit plotted out but I never got the call for a free set of tickets. The Nastase’s will stay crispy for another year I supoose, unless I get tickets to the Australian Open. LOL.
