Here’s more proof that R.L. aspires to be waspy above all else. He put the Modern Explorer embroidery on an RLX shawl collar. Timeless Polo R.L. graphics on a hightech garment. This is the best of all possible worlds. Just Blaze and 88 Keys prA’Li have this I.T. already.

Most of us can only be voyeurs for this piece since it’s only available on the Polo U.K. website

SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

KixPo was all of that and a pair of deadstock Foamposites. I was so hype from this trip that as soon as I touched down in NYC I had to copp the yellow Foamposites.

There was no way I was going to get my sneakergame up to the professional level that some of these folks were holding, but gosh darn it I’m def gonna try. I’m talking about ridiculous amount of heat and fireworks. These cats HAVE to still be living in their mom’s basements to afford all this shit.

Everything is bigger in Texas [ll] and that means the hospitality from the event promoters as well. As a part of the DuckDown entourage we were shuttled to and from the ginormous Cowboys Stadium (which looked like a spaceship that had landed) to the hotel. The overall experience guaranteed my return for next year’s KixPo.

Let’s also agree that Sean Price should have his own television show where he uses his slanguage to describe the world around him. Sean is a brilliant wordsmith which has led to him being a favorite emcee, but his personality is too engaging for just rap alone. Enjoy these clips Internets. #SneakerFiendsUnite

Newmanati Goes Shoeminati…

Sunday, August 5th, 2012

The KixPo sneaker and streetwear convention was amazing. Firstly, I met some friends from the TWitterverse. Secondly, I stepped on the field that the Dallas Cowboys play football on. The stadium is an undeniable cathedral to sports and entertainment. Sure, the people of Arlington and getting shellacked with taxes to maintain the spaceship, but damn it was glorious.

I put on my 2012 Year Of The Dragon Air Jordans. I’ve loved them ever since I got my hand on them. I popped tags on a Polo RL Modern Explorer knit with a dragon screen print.

I put on a compression sleeve on my right arm with the knowledge that my arm would fatigue from holding the handycam all day filming Sean Price shenanigans. I also donned a layer of DRI-fit cotton between my fine Polo wares and my undershirt sweat collection system. Texas was hotter than Hades. I don’t know how heads keep their icy sole kicks from melting in that heat.

I used the medium elevation insoles in my Air Jordan system. I also rocked a nice little G-Shock I picked up this week.

It took me several hours to upload my video footage from the day. I’ll post that recap video along with some video treats from Sean P later this week. Stay logged on to DP.com and keep those kicks crispy.

Oh and yeah, sneaker fiends… Holler at me for your custom Sneaker Fiends Unite! buttons via the Houston homey Waio713. I call this required summer swag.

SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

KixPo is going down tomorrow and I CAN NOT WAIT to walk on the field at Cowboys Stadium. This is prA’Li one of the top five things I’ve dreamed about in my life, including marrying Vanessa Williams, becoming an X-Man, having all my Polo pieces from 87-92 in a size 3XL and owning an Abrams tank as my personal car.

I’m already laying out the blueprint…

The New Era cap tops off this ‘fit perfectly.

If you are going to be in Dallas and you need my cell number leave a comment. Jerz, I see you.

DP Does Dallas…

Tuesday, July 31st, 2012

Sean P got me up in his entourage for this weekend to film video of he and Guilty Simpson at the KixPo sneaker and streetwear convention. How crazy is this that I’m finally getting to visit Dallas, Texas?

I’m only breezing in and then jetting out the following morning but I will get to visit the Cowboys new stadium and walk on the turf. My hypebeast meter is on a trillion right now. The biggest problem for me is deciding which kicks to wear.
