Hip-Hop Is Timeless…

The best shit I got in the mail this year wasn’t free boots or free sneakers or free gear. The best shit I got in the mail this year was this bundle I bought from my Hip-Hop hermanos – Timeless Truth.

I can’t really put into words how proud of these dudes I am. Not just because we come from the same neighborhood in Queens. Not just because they gave me my first shot at being a radio personality. Not just because we are cut from the same Polo Ralph Lauren cloth.

Timeless Truth is a manifestation of real Hip-Hop. When you take your destiny into your own hands and you create your own reality. Not a fantasy world, but a real world based on hard work, determination, perserverance, love and loyalty. These brothers ARE the movie.

If you don’t have their debut CD, which they produced with RTNC as a labor of love to this Hip-Hop lifestyle then I implore you to pick up your copy ASAP (no Rocky). Or copp a Timeless Truth tee. Just do something to support these brothers so that they know we still out here looking for that REAL.

You are in the navy now Lifestylers!

I’ve got a few new naval themed I.T.’s in the archive but nothing is hitting harder than this satin jacket with the sickest embroidery on the back.

The pants were on clearance at Bloomies and the Tiger’s (Asics) were a nice pickup from Nordstrom Rack. Ha, I should have racked them, but I was the only jig in the store.

Who can be mad at $35 tho’? The khaki cargos were even cheaper at $32.50 because Bloomie’s clearance is -50% off the LOWEST ticket price.

How boss is that embroidery?

The real reason I’m rocking the Onitsuka Tigers in this ‘Fit is because the jacket told me to.

Be A Champion…

I was digging thru some throwback flicks because I knew I’d find a pic of myself rocking a Champion reverse weave sweatshirt. Instead of finding my image I see the man, the myth and the legend, Ambush. Hail Meg!

Champion is one of a handful of brands I am forever loyal to. The construction of their reverse weave sweatshirt was legendary. The comfort of the item was undeniable. The other key to Champion was the fact they were UNDERBRANDED. They used a little embroidered ‘C’ on their tit and a smaller ‘C’ on the wrist.

I was introduced to a Champion rep last year at SneakerCON. I told him what I appreciated about the brand and he asked me to keep in touch with him. The wheels in the marketing game turn slowly, but as least they move surely in this instance. I got a box to the crib with some dopa ass Champion pieces. Let’s talk about them…

The camo print hoody has the crucial detail I needed to see and that would be the wrist with the ‘C’.

I like this classic track jacket for its simple and clean colorblocking.

A$AP Roky has an Iditarod Superboot collab about to pop off with Timberland. It looks like they are using a blonded nubuck leather. I just hope they are giving the upper the same elephant skin pebbled texture as the classic 40 Belows.

Yes, I’m riding for A$AP Rocky to win.

I like New Era ‘PRO MODEL’ caps as obsessively as I fux with everything else in my programme. I felt a sense of authenticity when I first started to rock ‘fitteds’. First of all, they was FITTED. Never tucking my ears into my cap like I was in pre-school. Shits were fitted. Why else we called them ‘fitteds’.

Then New Era started making them with 3-D logos. Blue Jays is the hardest 3-D logo cap. Then comes the Cleveland joint with bigface Chief Wahoo. The cap pictured above is the Boston Braves before their stop in Milwaukee and then on to Atlanta.

Shit look like my grandpa too.
