Brooklyn’s New Polo Anthem…

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Finally someone from NYC with NO connection to the OG Lo-Life movement has created an anthem for all the people under 21yrs old rocking Polo off the rack. I did see some vintage I.T.’s in this video tho’ so it’s not like they don’t respect the architects.

I ain’t mad at these kids either except they gotta take the Polo Jeans Co. out of their steez. PJC is made by Claiborne. Might as well be U.S. Polo Association in my opinion. Okay, it’s not that bad, but you know…

The Punk Smoove Rap Balladeer…

drake

Rap music’s creative juggernaut Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham is putting out his second album titled ‘Take Care’. Drake is the Rap Sade, the Rap Barry Manilow, the Rap Michael Bolton, the Rap Adele, the leader in dropping that punk smoove shit.

I’m not mad at this album because it is exactly what you would have expected from Drake. This is music for the ladies. And the ladies who will get fellas to put on some mothbit grandma knit sweater just to meet her parents at Thanksgiving dinner.

This is music for the newly cuffed, and those who wish they had been cuffed. This is music for the heartbreakers, but mostly for the brokenhearted. Don’t cry internets, dry your eyes because you won’t feel like this forever. This album won’t last past Valentine’s Day and by then you’ll have fallen in and out of love 100 more times.

I know Drake will.

Shaz IllYork x Spit Gemz = The Opposition…

shaz spit

One of the main reasons I fux with Shaz IllYork is because he takes me back to the days when you could see a rapper in the streets or on the subway. Or copping a tag on a lamppost. Shaz IllYork is soooooo New York it’s not even a game. He lives the classic emcee lifestyle which is to be of the people. Not in some crazy limousine wearing sunglasses while surrounded by bodyguards.

Shaz linked up with Brooklyn spitter Spit Gemz to form The Opposition. With a group name this menacing these two are gonna have to put in some serious work on the microphone. Shaz recognizes how important the visual element of music is currently and he’s already directed several videos for The Opposition movement. Hopefully we’ll see Action Bronson and Meyhem Lauren in some future joints.
