SNEAKER FIENDS UNITE!

Friday, May 20th, 2011

Dr.Jays might prA’li be my favorite sneaker retail location in the city. They have one of the best Nike accounts in town and they never charge you anything over box price no matter how hyped the sneaker might be. This includes all Jordan releases and event the Air Yeezy.

Dr.Jays still operates like a mom and pop store where the employees know your name and more importantly your shoe size. This is why I fux with the flagship store on 34th Street. As soon as I walk in my homeboy Sid tells me what they have in stock in my size.

I’m happy that Dr.Jays re-opened their flagship store on West 34th Street yesterday. It was always my favorite shop because it was a quick walk down Fifth Avenue from the Lord & Taylor men’s store and a block away from Macy*s Polo section. After shopping I just hop on the #2 train to Chocolate Snowflake’s house or catch the LIRR at Penn Station out to my rest.

If the world doesn’t come to an end this weekend I’m putting myself on a training regimen for the summer. And by training regimen I mean wearing mostly cross-trainers this summer. Bo Jackson, Penny Hardaway and Ken Griffey retros are flooding the streets and I am caught up in the nostalgia. Check these styles…

Air Trainer SC II
I wasn’t fuxing with this colorway at first but then I started to come around to the look. These might end up being be my handball high performance kicks for the summer.

Air Max Penny
There is something about these shoes that when you rock them with shorts and black socks it just looks official

Air Trainer Huarache
Please don’t sleep on these limited edition retros. Subtle hits of black and grey are all suede. These are the cross-trainers you wear with a tuxedo.

Air Griffey Max II
Jr.’s signature shoes had so much flavor to have brothers rocking that teal colorway hardbody. The only thing I ever had to match up with these shoes colorwise was a Florida Marlins fitted. I’m still copping tho’.

Peace to Franalations and ShoeWolf who also attended the grand re-opening of Dr.Jays

For those of you who can’t make it to the Big Apple you can always fux with Dr.Jays online

Sinning And Winning For The Rapture…

Friday, May 20th, 2011

In just 24 hours the rapture will be upon mankind. No, not a Blondie reunion concert, but the whole rapture from the book of Revelations with the pale white horse and the cataclysmic catechism.

It kind’a sux that the Internets Celebrities are rolling out a brand new series of films on June 1st because some of you folks won’t be around to see them. We put our hearts and souls into these movies when we prA’li should have been spending that time in church.

Just know that the I.C.s will be on the team that is fighting against the armies of Satan and pretty much anyone trying to hate on the internets. If this is mankind’s final stand then at least feel good about us because we are bringing truth to power, and power to the people.

Actually, we’re kind of illuminating…

Get Ready For Combat…

Friday, May 20th, 2011

This might be the final Combat Jack Show if some fanatical Christians get their wish for the worldwide rapture this weekend. For the last show we brought in the legendary Stretch Armstrong to talk about his pioneering Hip-Hop radio program along with his time within the music industry.

Stream the podcast for your listening pleasure and if the world doesn’t end on Saturday make sure you subscribe to this show on iTunes for future podcasts.

Skyzoo – ‘Written In The Drums’…

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

When I first heard Skyzoo he reminded me of Jay-Z prA’li the same way people hear Action Bronson and think of Ghostface. But now after several years Skyzoo has grown into his voice and his own content.

The Illmind project was his official graduation and now dude is fully grown and rapping from the bottom of his soul.
