The Boot Camp Clique Chronicles…

Timberland’s 40th anniversary will be next year and I’m getting myself all hyped in advance by visiting some of the classic stores where I’ve bought Timbs over the years. When I worked for the architects on 14th Street I used to visit Paragon and David Z like I was still in high school.

I studied boot releases back then like heads study sneaker releases nowadays. As you might imagine, the winter WAS the season to put your sneakers back in the box and put on your chukkas or better still, your Forty’s. I can’t wait to see what the 4oth anniversary 40 Below looks like. But I digress…

Walk with me los Internetos as I take a look at what’s hot in the streets and fresh for your feets…

Don’t sleep on Burlington Coat Factory. They have the distressed leather classic contractor boots (with Anti-Fatigue insoles) for only $80. Plus they have the Vibram outsole Timberland Cadion hikers for the cheap as well.

My next stop was the venerable Paragon Sporting Goods at the northwest end on Union Square. Paragon is simply a halcyon spot of freshness since I ever stepped foot in that space. They sport all kinds of official gear for outdoorsmen or whatever activity floats your motorboat. I bought my first Tag-Heuer timepiece at Paragon. More importantly I bought my first pair of Forty Belows from Paragon.

The Timberland section at Paragon was pretty basic for what is available in most shops and even in the Timberland flagship locations, but I did see a boot I HAVE to put in my archives. The Pathrock High is a clean looking hiker with a rugged, aggressive outsole. I also like the Timberland shitkickers for when I want to go with a refined shitkicking look. Who knew Vasque was still making boots? What the FUX are those?!?

Next I floated thru David Z which is one of my honeycomb hideouts for New Balance swag on clearance. David Z also kept it 100 with the Timberland stock too. They were a good spot to copp some Beef and Broc field boots in a pinch. They have some styles on sale as we speak…

Oh snap! The suede 7-eye moccasins for $50? Copped. For the second time. LOL. I’m such an addict. David Z even had their Wallabees on sale for a nice price. I’m prA’Li going back to score a pair of low cut moccasins for $40.

40 is the magic number. Get hype with me for Timberland’s 40th.

Fair Isle Lifestyle…

Sunday, November 25th, 2012

My sweater game has always been on a trillion thanks to my grandmother’s annual holiday gifts of colorful wool sweaters. My grandma’s maiden name was O’Loughlin from her Scottish dad who must have given her his Fair Isle swag.

I’ve got some sweaters in my archive so wooly and chunky I can wear them as coats. The sweaters featured in this drop aren’t that brawlick, but they have the Fair Isle knit pattern which is a MUST for your winter repertoire.

This pattern is hardbody. It’s like icicles hanging down from your rooftop with a taste of native American iconography. I just wish R.L. had added some details to the wristbands so that when the knit peek-a-boos from your jacket sleeves you give off #swag.

The knit pictured below is one of those everlasting holiday patterns with the colors and snowflakes embedded throughout. The toggle neck closures give you grown man points even if you don’t have any children and you live in your mother’s basement like I do.

Enjoy your holidays and show off your Lifestyle as much as possible. Let your family and friends know you DO this.

Outfit Architecture…

Don’t forget to mind your infrastructure when building your Outfit Architecture. Century21 has the best prices on Polo underwear on the regular, but Macy’s, Dillard’s and Bloomie’s have sales with coupons. I FUX with coupons.

If you ever see me in the streets and I don’t have any Lifestyle obviously on my back just know I have it on my ass and feet. Yeah, it’s that serious.

Outfit Architecture…

Just like Victorian architecture, God is in the details.

I’m popping tags this week on another Indian blanket button-down so I assembled the pieces I wanted to use to connect the dots within my Lifestyle programme

The Navajo and midwestern themed prints are killing the game this season. These joints aren’t built for pedestrian pony Lifestylers tho’. These prints are for the vets out here who don’t want to talk with new fans, but with the old heads still in the game.

I fux with this down filled Elmer Fudd hat after Just Blaze told me that he didn’t see anyone else holding this piece.

Blackstronaut Foamposites.

Breezed thru the RL outlet in Stroudsburg, PA last month and copped this button-down. I saw some sweaters I was fuxin’ with, but this shirt as well as a Navajo blanket shirt were in XXL and I needed to add some b-downs to the repertoire. The cuffs on this shirt are hardbody.

However, my favorite I.T. in this ‘fit is the Black Label scarf from an RL sample sale last year. I actually bought two(2) since they were the only things I could afford.
