Force MD’s – ‘Tears’

Allen Iverson’s return to the Association in his original home in Philly was underwhelming. His timing was off and his energy was diminished due to his lack of, er, practice. Oh what sweet irony must taste like. Iverson will eventually regain the timing to play at the level that his body can sustain but will that be adequate for him to remain in Philadelphia? I wish Iverson was using this time as a tryout for Cleveland and, or Boston.

11pts for 38 minutes is not how I want to remember Allen Iverson.

On another Iverson note… Tim Donaghy, the disgraced NBA referee said in his new book ‘Personal Foul’ that players like Iverson, Rasheed Wallace and Ron Artest were targets of the refs for personal discipline that the Association had not meted on these players. Donaghy is successfully putting the league’s officiating on blast.

Is it possible that these games are no longer competitions but simply exhibitions?

bizarro

What else can you call the team with one of the Association’s worst records serving a facial to the team with one of the league’s elite records? The Knicks should make GALLINARI their franchise player for at least the rest of the season. When you have a white guy who can pop from the arc and pull down double digit rebounds picking up Iverson would have been nothing more than Affirmative Action and we all know that AA shit is dead and stinking.

Around the Association…

Iverson back to Philly. Who the fux cares?

New Orleans is asscheeks with CP3, Okafor, West and Posey? Byron Scott took the fall but there is something rotten in the Hornets lockerroom.

Adam Morrison will have a championship ring before LeBron James does.

iverson

ALLEN IVERSON is set to retire but just in case you even cared he still regards himself as a player in the top tier of the Association.

Iverson was a great player and I wish that he had put his mind together on ‘finishing’ as opposed to ‘starting’. I hope he comes back into the Association again before the new year so that he can possibly land himself on the All-Star team, but then again on second thought, if he has a problem with coming off the bench…

Iverson wasn’t the only headline for the Association this Thanksgiving. JASON KIDD just dimed his way into second place all time in the assists column. KIDD has been one of the better point guards to play over the last decade, or has he?

JOHN STOCKTON isn’t just the GOAT because he wore the tightest tightpants of any post-millenial player. Stockton’s career assist total is the combination of two(2) top tier players careers. With over 15,000 assists Jason Kidd would have to add Iverson’s assists to his in order to come close to Stockton.

MARK ‘Action’ JACKSON, whom Kidd just eclipsed was a fundamentally different player from Kidd. Jackson turned over the ball a little less while Jason stole the ball from opponents a lot more than Jackson did. The stat that blows me away though is the number of triple doubles that Jason has accrued fron the point guard position.

Those are numbers that belong to taller playmakers who post up closer to the basket. Those guys operate in a smaller office space closer to the rim where shots, rebounds and opportunities to pass to people at point blank range abound. Jason Kidd has been steadily making plays from over twenty feet away from the basket.

Who knows though? If Jason Kidd had been into tightpants [ll] maybe he’d already have gotten a title?

Iverson Is NOT The Answer…

iverson

For my Knicks

Truthfully he isn’t the answer to any team right now because he still considers himself a primetime player. If Iverson could sublimate his ego he would be a good fit on any number of contending clubs. Cleveland or Boston would benefit having his talents. More importantly tho’ is that Iverson would also have to alter himself as a player and shooter.

Do you remember VINNIE ‘The Microwave‘ JOHNSON? He earned the nickname because he was able to score a bunch of points really fast. He could heat up quickly. Can Iverson become a microwave because right now he is coal furnace filled with bricks. Vinnie Johnson also played stifling defense which Iverson absolutely does not.

All I know is that the Knicks and Iverson both deserve better at this point.

iverson

Allen Iverson has become as enigmatic as Stephon Marbury when you consider their playing careers and off-court issues. It doesn’t look like Allen will be a starter in the league any longer, not even on a team that smells like asscheeks. I wouldn’t mind if the Knicks picked him up once the Grizzlies release him, but this is why I have a weblog as opposed to a GM position. I doubt Allen could win us any more games than the current backcourt players have a chance to.

My problem might be that I’m still thinking about 2001’s Allen Iverson who was the best player in the game of basketball. Allen might still be reminiscing on that player as well.

Sadly, and ultimately, time marches on.

Why waste it practicing?
