Are y’all heads getting ready for the REAL spring season to drop? Hells chea you are and I know some of you are busy building outfits to stunt in the streets. Ralph Lauren made it easy for us with this Wild River Canoe Class series of I.T.’s. Similar to some of the recent graphic print series like Ocean Challenge, Wild River is colorblocked cleanly and brightly with all kinds of official text and tags on the pieces.

Let’s start with the Challenge jacket…

Bells, whistles, pulls, zippers and an above the waist swag that is clean and neat. Jackets are great I.T.’s because they rock in several seasons.

I fux with the full zip fleeces and the pullys.

I’ve seen a version of the pully with an integrated hood and an ID plate on the chest. That shit will be one of the superstar pieces of this series

I’m looking to top off these pieces with a chapeau from the series. I like the fit of these caps more than Ocean Challenge ballcaps which sat on my scalp like a yarmulke. I am Hebrew after all, but my style is so gentile.

I hope that patch pulls off.

Since I have been squeezing my fat ass into RLX pieces why wouldn’t I also try to get into this knit or tee?

Polo Ralph Lauren makes it easy for me to look like I give a fux about white water wild river rafting and canoeing. It’s called Lifestyling Internets. It’s what we do.

I have been OD’ing on the native American prints lately, and these Air Jordan retro 3s have the springtime flair you need on your feet.

Maybe I’ll find some lifestyle to complement these kicks better, but for the meantime and in between time I’m gonna have to go Navajo when I retro.

Everytime I feel like Polo Ralph Lauren has outdone themselves and won’t be back with any heat for a few seasons they show me that they have piles of styles ready to drop to keep their buzz at the all time high it stays at.

Spring 2013 keeps that camper look in effect. I wanna see some ill caps for this season.

The knits look great in person. I’ll fux with the red or the green when they come thru Marshall’s

This is a banging rugby. It’s too close to the Modern Explorer rugby I caught last year so I’ll pass unless I find this at an undeniable price.

The reinforced should yoke stitching is BOSS!

Damn, R.L. is dumbing out with the Native American prints.

This rain jacket could have been Denim & Supply

The secret gem I am digging this season is the classic fireman raincoat. I have this piece in tan and I have the slicker yellow in a full length trench, but I need this 3/4 joint. The detailing on this butters are church

REEL TALK w/ GENERAL STEELE…

Smif n Wessun - Dah Shinin cover

When I initially plotted this interview with Steele from Smif-N-Wessun it was to kick shit about Timberland boots and for how long he had been a collector of the brand. Our conversations quickly found all kinds of other places of relativity, and relevance, like the culture of consumption, the pain and joy of making music and society at large.

Steele is one of the people the great spirits have entrusted with carrying culture from one generation to the next. That requires a perspective to contemplate your role in the chain of life. You have to be humble even when you understand how great your mission is. You have to be ready to sacrifice yourself for your destiny.

These reels are a total of a half an hour. The same amount of time you might use up watching a sitcom. I’d respectfully request you give that same part of your attention to an artist who has twenty years of work behind him and even more than that in front of him. All because of one thing… His reverence for the WORD. First came the word which put everything in being.

Blues For Smoke…

Chocolate Snowflake’s late father, Roy DeCarava, is being featured in an art exhibit currently sited at the Whitney Museum (Madison Avene/ East 75th Street – NYC) titled Blues For Smoke. The exhibit features photographs, paintings, collages, sculptures and other interdisciplinary artforms to not simply describe blues as a musical genre but as an aesthetic for motivating creative people to do what they do.

This is the same way that Hip-Hop informs me of what to value in my life. My outfit architecture was simple and clean. Y’all know I love prints and colors but I chose to be somewhat muted in my presentation.

Lavender is the springtime flavor for rebirth and regeneration. The Fair Isle scarf was my popp tho’. Better than having a sweater in that pattern all over my fat body the scarf says ‘Lifestyle’ to all who know my steez.
