Who Let The Dogs Out?

vick

The story for the early part of this NFL season has been the play of Michael Vick for the Philadelphia Eagles. Vick is the most exciting player in the game right now and he seems to be finding his form that he sported prior to his incarceration two years ago.

Philadelphia is a strange town and they seem to have taken to accepting Vick as the representation for the team. As long as Vick keeps winning games, especially this upcoming weekend against the NFC East rival Redskins and former Philly QB Donovan McNabb.

The DP.com football pool is back in effect again. Shouts to everyone that signed up. Last year we gave a DJ Hero console to the pool’s overall points winner. This year is no different and we have a selection of prizes for you football fans. EA Sports Madden ’11 for PS3 or DJ Hero2 console and game.

Good luck to all of you poolers, and good luck to Michael Vick.

The forensic cops are spotting the 95s distinctive footprint, but can you blame the criminals? I mean, the 95 has so many official colorways its difficult not to style on ’em hardbody while stealin’ nahmean?!?

The ‘LO-End Theory: eBay Comeups…

ebay

When I talk to new heads about the Lifestyle I always have to mention eBay. It’s a good place for beginners to find starter pieces for their collections and if you get lucky you might even snatch a comeup or two.

Comeups are items that are posted by people who aren’t necessarily Polo Ralph Lauren collectors but they recognize the popularity of the brand so they post auctions featuring items associated with brand at reasonable opening bid prices. Take for instance this bear sweater I have pictured here…

ebay

The lifestylers call this a ‘Sit Down Teddy’ and the super lifestylers know that it is a cotton knit retro of the OG Sit Down from 1992 and the wool knit Sit Down from 1996. Whoever posted this item on the eBay system isn’t that informed, but they know that collectors cherish these sweaters so they have set the opening bid price at $600. That is OG money, not a fair bid price for a retro.

Here are a couple of bear coffee mugs.

ebay

You might imagine that my collection is filled with Polo Bear items? The answer would be hell yeah. I like these mugs and their opening bid price is fair at $8 bucks, but where I have to fall back on this auction is the shipping price. $10 for two mugs is a bit excessive in my book.

You have to monitor eBay for opening bid prices as well as shipping charges to determine if an item is going to be worth the cost but once you have that business all sorted out you can go hard – like Brooklyn.

centipede

House centipedes – These are the GOOD bedbugs…

Rebe Jackson – ‘Centipede’

Sometimes I miss the good ol’ bad New York City of my youth. This was the New York City where the subways were filled graffiti and not some bullshit where the MTA lets corporations wrap trains top to bottom with paid advertisements.

This latest incarnation of New York City is acting pretty bitchmade if you ask me. Maybe it was all that Disney shit filling up Times Square and chasing away the hookers and closing the arcades. It’s definitely not sexy to see all this anti-Islam fervor being generated over a community center, but the blind fear people are circulating over bed bugs might be the worst thing yet.

The damn things are so small they can barely be detected and if you also have house centipedes they will eat the bed bugs so your problem solved. If people want to fear something they should worry about all the vermin feces they inhale everytime a subway car wrapped with advertisements blows into their station.

Truth be told is that I’m hoping on cashing in on the bed bug hysteria in my own little way. Niketown has reported an infestation in their store’s stockroom. Hopefully they will be discounting some AirMax 2009 to the low low. I’ll be there to pick up those pieces.

ewing

I can see Patrick Ewing taking an NBA franchise to the promised land and he never looked more Jamaican than the years he rocked that Red Sea part in his hair.
