Put Some Extra Butter On My Kicks…

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

ExtraButterNY is a swag shop out in Long Island near my crib in Freeport. I stumbled into their shop one day and I’ve been fuxing with them ever since. The homey Jason saw me at SneakerCON and he laced me with some extra swaggy socks to rock with my J’s.

SneakerCON was bigger and better than it has ever been as evidence of the new space which is the size of an airplane hangar. Hypebeasts still rule the roost and I haven’t found anyone willing to show me love for the Doernbecher VIs.

If you live on Long Island you better put Extra Butter into your Black Friday shopping rotation.

They are looking to blow out some of the year’s previous styles.

Outfit Architecture…

Saturday, November 17th, 2012

I haven’t been too motiv8d to post Outfit Architecture drops because I thought it was getting boring. But when the homey Meyhem Lauren graciously allowed me to preview some of his upcoming work and he namechecked Outfit Architecture my whole demeanor switched up. Thanks Meyhem.

I’m in these streets try’na copp the Air Jordan Retro IX ‘Olive’ this weekend and this is my ‘fit. I popped tags on the Polo RL Millrose varsity jacket. I love this shit for all its inherent swag. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t in the Olympics when I put this I.T. on. Or at least at the Millrose Games at the Armory.

I figured I should break down the components of the outfit that stand out to me and helped push my attitude to 1000. We gonna do the drafting of this emotional outfit from head to toe…

My fitted spot is Poleberg out in Queens. They ain’t gonna sell you a cap as cheap as they would to me personally, but if you mention my name they will cut you a disco.

Big shouts to Bobby Fresh for the tee and all the joints he produces to rock with your favorite sneakers. Get fresh, or get left

These are the bands that make me dance. SneakerTubeTV has the red, white and blue 3-pack and the bonus is that the clear white joint actually glows in the dark. Swerve.

There is nothing more important to your building than your footings. That is your foundation. You already KNOW how the kid feels about ‘Detroit Pistons’ retro 6s. And there you have it.

Cranberry Swag Lifestyle…

Friday, November 16th, 2012

In another week you are gonna be visiting your fam and eating that tryptophan turkey with the cranberry sawse. I wish everybody has a safe holiday with their family and friends.

I’m still putting I.T.’s on my holiday wish list hoping that R.L. has one of those everlasting online sales for Black Friday.

Navajo print hoodie since I have the socks to match this

I need another ‘USA’ themed I.T. like I need a whole in my brain but I like the colorblocking on this rugby enough to add it to the archives

I liked the blue of this piece and the details at the wrist and shoulder yoke. R.L. seems to be O.D.’ing with all these nationalistic rugby jerseys especially since these don’t even represent the sovereign colors of Spain. Kanye shrugs tho’ since I will be having international swag

Several of these pilot bombers have been issued over the last few years. I fux with the coyote fur collar on the older versions. I think R.L. newest vibe isn’t to use actual fur.

“Too bad. Maybe that coyote deserved to die.” -Roadrunner

I Too, Sing America Lifestyle…

Friday, November 2nd, 2012

For me, Ralph Lauren’s tipping point into iconoclasm was his use of the American flag on his clothing. He disguised his representation of the symbol on garments which were extremely well made. Prior to Ralph Lauren it had been considered sacrilege to WEAR the flag.

Looking thru the fall series which has gone on sale at Polo.com I see several pieces which incorporate the American flag along with Native America textile prints.

This reminds me of the contributions of the Native Americans to the Union efforts during the Civil War. These peoples had been slaughtered, removed from their lands and relocated several times, but despite all of that they still believed in the tenets of the Constitution.

The Native Americans too, sing America…

I, too, sing America.

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.

Tomorrow,
I’ll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody’ll dare
Say to me,
“Eat in the kitchen,”
Then.

Besides,
They’ll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed—

I, too, am America.

The based godpoet Langston Hughes crafted that masterful verse.

Ralph Lauren has crafted these timeless Lifestyle knits with details that are obvious to the eyes, and some not so much.

The print at the nape is extra swag simply because ho one else knows it is there but you, or you could do a dP move and rock this knit inside out? LOL

Since we are entering the winter months I’ll prA’Li go after the longsleeve Lifestyle version so I can remain chill in my apparel aspirations while keeping the chill off my back.

Native New Yorker Lifestyle…

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

I’m on this Plains indians print theme after peeping the inner lining of that Mansfield trek jacket. Right now my bread is too short, like the rapper, to handle the pricepoint for that jacket so I cut some corners in my aspirations for apparel.

This full-zip hoody caught my vision board even tho’ I got the similar joint in faded salmon.

During my last visit to Atlanta(A3C) momdukes copped this I.T. for my bornday from the Lenox Square Macy’s Big & Tall store.

I already caught this hat from the same Macy’s back during the summer in anticipation of heating up a cold winter. You know I’m not new to this native print swag.
